ANYway, let’s get back to this week’s ALDI meal plan…

Let’s get ready to make six complete dinners for a family of four, just $60.00 out the door! Hope you find the free ALDI meal plans useful, and you can just scroll down under the grocery list to find an easy printable shopping list for your week. (This is in Word format, but you should be able to open in Wordpad or Google Docs if you don’t have Word.)

ALDI meal planning week of 7/8/18 – 7/14/18

I’m assuming here that you already have pantry basics like cooking oil, condiments, and spices. 🙂 *** Read through the recipes before you shop to make sure you have the necessary pantry staples on hand. With a little extra room in the budget this week, I did include the butter needed for this week’s recipes in the shopping list below — and you’ll still have plenty left over for future weeks.

Let me know if you give it a try!

Things to know about the ALDI meal plans

A couple of notes

  1. I try not to repeat main dish recipes more often than once a month, but you will see favorite easy recipes come up again in these weekly ALDI meal plans as the same meats and produce items come up again on sale. Part of the fun of meal planning lies in mixing old stand-bys with something new each week.
  2. If one or more of these recipes isn’t to your taste, or if you have other ingredients to use, you can adapt the recipes in this ALDI meal plan to your family’s preferences — or just use the ideas here to supplement your own meal planning. See: Pantry staples to stock up on and how to modify a meal plan for your family.

** Ad markets and dates

This week’s ALDI meal plan reflects prices from the current week’s ad (running 7/1-7/7 in Sunday ad markets, and 7/4-7/10 in Wednesday ad markets). Non-advertised prices were collected on 7/4/18 at my local store in the Chicago suburbs, but non-advertised prices and produce deals *may vary* by location & region. In either ad market, shop any time through Saturday and start cooking on Sunday 7/1/18.

My family really enjoyed this week’s meal plan! I now get excited to get your emails each Wednesday to see what I’ll be cooking up next.

I am so excited I found something that will actually work for me and my family. I do have a question or two: 1. What Days do you post your new week? 2. If I feed a family a 5 how do I adjust the recipe so? Thank you!

The new meal plans are posted every Wednesday. If you are feeding a family of five, sometimes the recipes stretch, sometimes people add an extra side, sometimes you can add a little more meat -- it really depends on the recipe and how old your kids are.

Thank you for creating these money-saving meal plans. I wasn't taught to cook because my mom wasn't. I've had to learn throughout the years. I'm a very frugal person who wants to cook healthy meals for my family, so I'm in love with your website due to all the benefits: healthy, money-saving, time-saving, flavorful, EASY, etc. I feel so blessed to have found this. Again, thank you for creating & sharing all of this!

My husband won't eat chicken after he saw how they were raised and processed. Could you include pork, ham, beef, seafood more often?

I'd like to suggest what we do- I am allergic to fish/seafood so when Rachel has dinners with that, I try to keep the dinner/recipe and just replace the protein. Switching between fish to chicken and pork is usually pretty easy. I imagine it would be easy to switch from chicken to seafood/pork. Happy planning! :)

The meal plans are often around the meats on sale, in order to fit into that $60 budget. This week, it happens to be chicken -- last week was very beef heavy, so it depends on the week. Since everyone has different diets, I unfortunately can't tailor them to everyone's specific preferences, needs, and restrictions. I'd suggest picking the meals that work for you, and then you can always pick recipes from the older plans or your own family's favorites to fill in on the other nights.
