Poor man's chicken parmigiana = happy kids

Cheap chicken parmigiana!

Any of you who are real cooks should be cringing right about now...

Buitoni noodles, free after coupon and Catalina.
Tyson chicken nuggets, free after Catalina.
Bertolli organic pasta sauce, free after Catalina (last summer).
Mozzarella cheese, cheap at Dominick's one day.

All adds up to some almost-free "chicken parmigiana." I should be ashamed. 🙂 The kids, however, were quite pleased!

  1. So he's not a gourmet! And he's not going to eat it because he's doing the low-carb thing, but he really WANTS to. Why do I bother actually cooking? 🙂

  2. Love it. We just had tyson chicken patties. Reminded me of when chicken patties first came out and they were full of really odd parts and pieces. Ahh- bad memories of the 1st generation chicken patties. They have improved over time. Not so much mystery meat.

  3. Well, I am not ashamed to admit that I--a 32 yo mother of 2--have made this meal (using dino nuggets my children didn't finish, but subing free Ronzoni for the fettuccine) for myself several times. It really isn't bad!

  4. Hey, it's got grease, sugar, and salt--three of the four basic childhood nutrients (the other being carbonation.) Looks like a balanced meal to me!
