Medieval Times review + giveaway!
This giveaway has been sponsored by Medieval Times. Medieval Times provided tickets for purposes of review; however, all opinions here are my own.

Can you believe that all these years I've lived in Illinois, I'd never been to Medieval Times before last week? Now: I know what we've been missing while driving on by that huge castle off the highway all of these years! Our whole family had a blast at our Medieval Times Schaumburg outing, even the slightly jaded junior high guy. So here's my Medieval Times review, then read on for your chance to win your own family outing to Medieval Times Schaumburg.
Mr. 8 was especially inspired -- he somehow talked us into this official Medieval Times wooden axe from their gift shop, and then jazzed it up and fashioned his own knight costume out of paper the very next day. (Not bad, eh?!)
Speaking of the gift shop, fair warning: They walk you through both going in and leaving, leaving you with plenty of time to browse before the doors to the dinner show open. 🙂
And what a show it was: We had knights, we had jousting, we had parades and falcons and games of skill... we had a tournament and drama and the chance to cheer on "our" knight as he made his way through the tournament... to victory! Every visitor gets a paper crown in their knight's color and a pennant to cheer him on -- and the knights tossed carnations as favors to random girls in the crowd.
All this while enjoying a hearty meal -- made "medieval" via pewter dinnerware and the lack of utensils, lol. Here's Mr. 8 enjoying his "baby dragon," and we also supped on everything from "dragon's blood" (tomato bisque) to "dragon's eggs" (seasoned potatoes). Medieval Times will make food substitutions for allergies (Italian ice rather than apple turnover for a gluten free, dairy free dessert for example), and has a vegetarian option available as well.
Protective screens came down during the actual jousting portion of our evening's entertainment, which was well-choreographed with plenty of dramatic moments and sparks flying from the knights' blades. All in all, this was super fun family entertainment, suitable for all ages.

I'd like to give tickets to my sister and her family. My sister lost her job, and then lost her house, and my niece & nephew are having a hard time adjusting to the new neighborhood. The whole family could use a night out and a distraction from what's going on in their lives.
My 10 year old , and my girls would LOVE this, as well as my husband (yes I know we would need to buy more tickets) We have lived her for years and have never gone due to the price. I think my entire family would love to have the experience, but I think my 10 year old would think it is silly and fun, and would have a great time with his Dad and sisters (If we don't buy more tickets to go) I know my daughters would also love it, but would say take the 10 year old and give him the experience.
We love Medieval Times and haven't been there in years! I just overheard a discussion between some kids today...are the crowns all red or red & yellow? It was quite a heated conversation!! 🙂
Would love to take my husband there for his birthday, it would be grand!
We have also never been- my husband, daughter and son
Would love to go. We have never been there.
My nephew would love to go to Medevil Times.
My 8 year old daughter would love this! My 14 year old would say he is going for the food but would enjoy himself too. 🙂
We would love to take our two boys (10 & 6)! They would love it!
Our family has never been there either! It would be fun for our family, including our 2 boys, 15 & 12.
Thanks!
My dad. With my mom passing away recently, i've been trying to think of places to take him to keep him active. Even if I don't win, I'll take him. Thanks for posting this great idea. Never been there either.
We've never been and I know my little man would enjoy it, especially the jousting.

I would take my grandchildren
I would take my grandchildren. My grandson plays sword fight frequently and would truly enjoy it!

There are 3 special girls, two in grade school, 1 in pre school. They lost their young mother, at age 39 to cancer! It will almost be the 1 year mark that she has passed. I think it would be fantastic to send their Father with them to do this! Thanks for all you do!
My five year old son would love going to Medieval Times. He loves to dress up as either a ninja, Spidermand or a knight in shining armor with a wrapping paper jousting stick. What a fun contest.
What a great family outing- my kids and husband and myself would love to go! I know my daughter would swoon to get a carnation from a knight! My son would love the jousting!
I am a mom of three (well 4 if you count my husband who is a giant child) boys! They are constant sword fighting and pretending to be Knights of the round table. I would love to take them. I'd love to go because I'm a big kid at heart.
I have a Mr. 7 and Miss 6 that would love to go! Any excuse to eat with their hands! Also, I am in the se boat as I have lived here almost my entire life (moved here when I was 6) and I have never been!

Nine year old son obsessed with swords, need I say more?
My children would LOVE it!!! We have never gone.
Our daughter just got her driver's license. Wouldn't it be great fun for a group of teenage girls? All those knights? Swoon...
This would be a dream come true for us! Our son dresses up in his knight costume daily and his sisters play along (sometimes in costume too :)).
I have lived here my entire life. I have heard of Medieval Times often, but have never been there. I have always wanted to go. I have thought about it often when I have seen it on Groupon. I am a single mother and it's just a little to expensive for me. My kids would absolutely love it!!!

The boys in my life!!
My daughter will be 5 this month and would have a blast here. But my parents would love to see me go to this, I'm sure! We were on a family vacation in Orlando when I was 16 or 17 and went to Medieval Times. Talk about jaded! I wouldn't wear the paper crown, so there's a picture of the four of us with my too-cool 17-year old self sans crown looking...well...too cool! 🙂
I have always wanted to go here, but never could afford it. I would take my husband and my two boys. thanks for the giveaway!
My almost 7 year old son would LOVE to go to Medieval Times! He's been asking to go for about a year. I think he's finally old enough that it won't startle him. As a bonus, he loves to eat with his hands! His little sister also loves any excuse to cheer for something! Our whole family would love to share in this experience.

I would let my husband go (with us, of course!) and let him live out his Game of Thrones fantasy! He works hard so I can stay home with our girls, never complains, is always pleasant and for him to get this close to actual "fighting", well, I think he'd be the happiest boy in the world!
We would love to go, the kids would love it!
Like you, I have never been nor has the hubby. My dd went 2 years ago with her orchestra and raved about it. She would be tickled to death to go again with us and her sister Thanks for posting the possibility of this.

My husband and boys would love the tickets. They have never been there and I would love to be able to take them!
I turned 50 last month and I think my twin sister and a couple of friends would enjoy a girls night out to MT to celebrate all of us turning 50 this summer.
Sandy
my kids would love it!
My family would enjoy a night out . We are trying to have as much family time together since our son is going to college in the fall.
My whole family of four would love to go...but especially my husband who directs the high school Madrigal Dinner. He always describes the Madrigal Dinner as "like Medieval Times...but with less jousting and more singing." LOL
Would like to win for our little guy! My husband says he is to young but I feel he is never to little. I believe we would all enjoy it and I can prove him wrong!
DS7 wanted to take a friend for his birthday. It's come and gone, but he'd be thrilled with an after the fact surprise.
I'd take my family. We've never been there & now knowing that they serve a vegetarian option as my daughter does not eat meat at all makes it that much more likely that we will go sometime! Thank you!
Great double-date night with friends or my niece and her boyfriend.
I would love to take my four kids and hubby. we have never been and look for groupons all the time. Its pricey when you have to pay for 6 tickets. only paying for two would be a huge help.

My 2 boys. We went when Mr. 15 was about 5 and there was a part with a wizard and a loud boom and my brother in law got scared and spilled coffee on him! That is all Mr. 15 remembers. So he has a coffee stained memory that I would love to clean up! lol...
