K'NEX X-Flame review + giveaway!
This post has been sponsored by K'NEX. I received this product for purposes of review; however, all opinions here are my own.
Even the name of this one sounds fierce, doesn't it? And dinosaurs are so in this year, just in time for the holidays. 🙂 Check out the new Beasts Alive X-Flame building kit from K'NEX, where you can create three different motorized beasts from one set. My guys only did one so far, but maybe another day... The set includes printed instructions for one model, and then you can download instructions for the other two from the K'NEX site. Requires two AA batteries to make it move (not included).
Fair warning: Mr. 8 did start building this K'NEX set on his own. Although it's marked ages 7+, he got pretty frustrated and eventually had to call on the able assistance of Junior High Guy. I wouldn't honestly recommend this for the under 10 age group -- he's a builder kind of guy, so the fact that this set stumped him says something. (Some of the pieces were very hard to fit together without breaking the rest of the set, too.)
Here's the finished creature -- and once we popped in some batteries, he really did move! Although the process was lengthy, both boys were pleased with the completed project.
