I've been a fan of Saffron Road since picking up their delicious broth at Whole Foods a while back, so was excited to try their new globally-inspired Crunchy Chickpeas flavors. They sent over samples of the new Korean BBQ and Chipotle flavors, both of which are non-GMO project verified, made with organic chickpeas, and certified gluten free. (The entire line of chickpea snacks is gluten free and made with organic chickpeas, and other flavors include Wasabi, Falafel and Bombay Spice.) All Saffron Road products are made with all natural products and are Halal certified.

These were a great little protein packed crunchy snack! And, the flavor variety worked out perfectly in our house: Mr. 7 thought the Chipotle were a bit too spicy, but went nuts for the sweeter and slightly spicy Korean BBQ -- while Junior High Guy opined that the Chipotle had just enough of a kick, and polished his off without even asking for water.

Both varieties are nicely crunchy and packed with flavor. I also liked that they're a healthier snack option, with good amounts of both protein and fiber to help give energy and keep you full.

  3. I would love to try Korean BBQ! It makes me think of how I used to go out for Korean BBQ with my friends. 🙂

  6. Love Chickpeas. I make my own spicy chickpeas with some cayenne pepper, olive oil spray, and a touch of salt. Yum!

  41. The BBQ sounds excellent! We've made our own but I can never get them to 'dehydrate' evenly so they aren't worth the effort

  42. Korean BBQ. I'm not as much into the spicy flavors, but I think I'd agree with Mr. 7 that BBQ is yummy.

  45. I enjoy things with a little spice so I would be interested in trying the Chipotle flavor.

  49. Yum! I've been looking for healthier crunchy snacks to eat, so this sounds delish! I'd enjoy both flavors, but I do especially love Chipotle flavored foods!
