Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: Peek-a-boo Edition

Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: Peek-a-boo Edition! Now, let me just launch into this week’s edition by telling you a little something about cats. You see Miss Innocent up there? She’s looking pretty sad and lonely, right — almost as if she’s locked up for no good reason, and if she could only slither the rest of the way under the door, she’d be the best cat you ever did see.

Well, what you don’t know is why she’s locked up in the first place. Have you ever noticed this about cats: They looooove all of the people who are allergic to cats. I kid you not: I have several friends who are cat-allergic, and all three cats always appear from all corners of the house like magic as soon as any of them walks in the door (even Mr. Jeremy, who usually hides from people). From there, they proceed to rub up against the cat-allergic vistor’s legs, jump into her lap, or, if all else fails, just decide to roll around on her coat or purse for a little while to ensure that it’s entirely covered with cat hair.

And that’s why Bad Kitty Lucy was safely (yet temporarily) locked behind the closed door — so don’t buy into her pitiful performance for a moment. She’s something of a con artist, that one…

And as for her sister! I picked up some fresh corn last week for dinner, shucked it, and set the cobs on the counter for a few minutes while the water was coming to a boil. When I came back in the room, I caught the perpetrator of the above crime with the evidence still firmly between her little bad kitty teeth. Really?!

Yeah, I don’t care how cute you are, Bad Kitty Gnocchi… I still haven’t forgiven you for Corngate.

No, really. We all know you’re cute! But you are still so bad…

On another note, in case you’re slightly concerned for Jeremy’s mental health after seeing his expression above: This is pretty typical of the face a cat makes upon hearing a Vitamix running at full power for the first time. (Let’s just say that they are not big fans, and leave it at that.)

He’s not the only one, though. BKL’s pupils still haven’t returned to normal, as she glares at us from her safe perch.

So, how’s your Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?

And, that’s us this week! We’re now settled into the swing of summer break; High School Guy finished his finals and is moved back home from IMSA for the next couple of months, and BKL has claimed the mighty pile of bins that came out of his dorm room. Jeremy’s so happy to have his boy back, but definitely not more than I am. 🙂

Be sure to tune in next time for an all-new episode of the exciting adventures of the Notorious BKL and Friends. So since that’s us for the week: How’s your own Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?
