Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends — Life is Exhausting Edition

Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends! Occasionally Mr. 10 and the Notorious Bad Kitten Gnocchi manage even to wear each other out, which is really something to see — but I guess that’s one advantage to having kittens and kids in the house at the same time, right?

But fear not: Mr. 10 still has room in his heart for the Notorious BKL — who may be locked in an never-ending battle with BKG to retain her position as queen of the Mashup household, but still manages to reclaim her throne whenever necessary.

She’s a little suspicious, though, that Mr. 10 might be cheating on her with another kitten. (Just to clarify, this is NOT our kitten, but a friend’s little two month old guy — three cats is definitely our limit over here!)

Here we ARRR now, entertain us!

But, at least having little BKG around can take some of the pressure to be endlessly entertaining off of poor Mr. Jeremy… who arrrr not amused in the least.

Although, you know, sometimes BKG actually has his back too — like, for instance, the time she pulled this thing right off of him and handily eviscerated it. Cats need to stick together in these sorts of situations, you understand.

But my gosh, isn’t she getting even prettier as she gets older? BKG is about six months old now, and BKL is coming up on two years old, believe it or not. When we got her the vet guessed at her age and put her at being born the last couple weeks of November, so Mr. 10 has of course declared that her actual birthday is on Thanksgiving. He doesn’t know it yet, but I am not making a cake. 😉

How’s your own Caturweek (or Cat-Free week) going?

That’s about it for this week’s Caturday, so let us know how your week was! Have any fun Thanksgiving plans? Most of our family is out of town, so it’s just the four of us and an 11 lb turkey over here. That’s OK, though, because we can be very laid back — and I’m totally making these broccoli cheddar hand pies and some kind of turkey soup (maybe this roasted garlic one or this slow cooker turkey sausage one, not sure yet) with the leftovers. (Don’t you just love Thanksgiving leftovers?!)

BKG is getting so big! I like the picture where she is laying with Mr. 10 on the floor. So cute!

Thanks for this cold and rainy day distraction. I think that first picture and caption might be one of my all-time favorites! :) Our turkey is 12 pounds. Maybe this year I will actually make one of your turkey soups---they always sound so good. But we do tend to just reheat and repeat our favorite turkey dinner, so who knows!

The turkey soups don't actually take a ton of turkey since there is so much other stuff going on, so you might be able to do both. :)
