Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: Come Sail Away Edition

cat in a basket with books

Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends, Come Sail Away Edition! So, why is the Notorious Bad Kitty Lucy here dreaming of warmer faraway climes? It’s not necessarily out of a fondness for Geronimo Stilton (that’s Mr. 11’s territory right now — this series comes highly recommended, by the way), but because:

You know how, when the kids are little, it’s often hard to get a moment’s peace without them following you (even into the bathroom) to see what you’re doing — and just to be as near you as possible at all times? Mom? Mom? Mooooommmmmyyyy?!

Well, BKL knows that feeling just a little too well lately.

I mean, she knows it really well.

No… I mean: This is a feeling she knows REALLY, really, very quite well.

I’m pretty sure that Bad Kitten Gnocchi’s constant attentions, however, are all just payback for how BKL used to treat Mr. Jeremy back when she was a bad kitten: It’s a whole circle of life thing around here. In his heart of hearts, I’m also pretty sure that Jeremy knows it, too, and that this knowledge brings him some measure of contentment and peace.

Too bad he has a little trouble relaxing, right? 😉

It’s all good in the end, though: BKL is still Mr. 11’s (funny) Valentine, even with Gnocchi’s constant “look at me, look at me!” in the background. And I just realized that since he’s headed to middle school (!) next year, this was our last year of classroom Valentines and their associated deluge of bad candy + worse puns. Phew. 😉

So, how’s your Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?

That’s about it for this week’s Caturday, but tune in next week for a new episode of the exciting adventures of the Notorious BKL and Friends! Will BKL escape Gnocchi’s attentions? Can Jeremy remain above the fray? And: How’s your own Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?

My cat Hedgewig is 11 and still sometimes follows me into the bathroom. If I don't close the door tight enough, he paws it open!
