Well, if your squirrel is like the ones in our neighborhood, it will come back to amuse the cats. We have 2 dogs next door and the squirrels perform a circus on the fence or power line just to stir up the dogs. So funny. One of the dogs is smart and plays along until she's tired, then ignores them, but, the little guy just entertains them until they get bored and leave.

Funny, I throw out the bread crusts from sandwiches every morning and the squirrels and birds from the neighborhood all gather on our deck. Our cats are in the same position as yours and hunker down like they are going to jump through the sliding glass door and attack them all!
