I received products to review from Stash Tea. All opinions in this post, however, are my own.
There’s nothing better than a hot cup of tea on a cold winter’s day — And although it may not technically be winter, waking up to temperatures in the 20s today counts in my book! Today seemed like a wonderful day to try out some new tea from Stash Tea, as well as these uber-cool Nektar honey crystals.
In an effort to stay away from the Halloween candy, I went with Stash Salted Caramel Mate herbal & black tea sweetened with Nektar honey crystals. (If you’re doing a dessert tea, why not go all out, right?)
I wasn’t sure the honey crystals would dissolve well, but they mixed right in. One packet of the Nektar honey crystals has 12 calories, and the equivalent sweetness of one teaspoon liquid honey.
Although I’m not usually a huge fan of dessert flavored teas, this was darn tasty. But then I made the mistake of letting MashupDad taste it… and ended up having to make myself a new cup of tea because he enjoyed it so much he stole the whole mug.
This required a switch to Stash Christmas in Paris herbal tea, of course! In Paris, apparently Christmas is caffeine free and tastes like cocoa shells, peppermint, lavender, chocolate flavor, and vanilla extract. Like all Stash teas, it is 100% natural. This lovely tea smelled like a chocolate mint while brewing, and also went quite nicely with the Nektar honey crystals.
You could tell these teas were made from quality ingredients, and both were smooth and delicious — although I did prefer the brief sips of Salted Caramel I was able to enjoy over the Christmas in Paris. But the Nektar honey crystals? Those are something special! No mess, no fuss, and they taste fantastic. They’d also be wonderful in oatmeal, and Mr. 7 even enjoyed a bit straight out of the packet.
