Some of you have been playing along with my power outage saga on Facebook since yesterday afternoon’s storm — but it’s finally back! It’s hard to see from my iPhone photo out the window through the rain, but lightning hit my neighbor’s tree, which caught on fire, and took out the transformer on the electric pole next to it with a huge BANG!
Always exciting over here in the Mashup Mom household… luckily, no one was hurt, and the power was out for less than 24 hours. But, that all does mean that I’m a little behind here. I hope to get Crunchy Friday finished sometime today as well as the drugstore deals, so please be patient with the process today. 🙂

When I was driving through our town yesterday evening, after getting off of the train from the city, I was shocked at the damage again with the trees.

The pic with the tree on fire is quite scary. Darn lightning! I'm glad you have power back on. I'm assuming all your food stayed good in the fridge and freezer since it was less than 24 hrs of no power? We got some rain early this morning in the NW suburbs. I'm happy that I don't have to water the grass, trees, bushes and flowers this morning.
