Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: Great American Novel edition

cat and an underwood typwriter

Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: The Great American Novel edition. And Happy International Cat Day, by the way — Why yes, it’s so serendipitous that Cat Day falls on Caturday this year.

So, yeah… I’m moving in less than two weeks and still in the throes of de-cluttering and downsizing, but last week? Oops, I accidentally picked up this old Underwood typewriter on Facebook Marketplace. Yes, that’s the opposite of what I should be doing, but… I’ve always wanted one, it was a great price, and I have the perfect spot for it in my new home.

It’s all good, though, because The Notorious Bad Kitty Lucy immediately lent this purchase her stamp of approval. What do you think; should I roll in a sheet of paper and let her get started on the Great American Novel?

I did then make a brief attempt at bringing her work into the 21st Century, but she found the very idea exhausting. Maybe it’s just a lot more fun to walk across the keyboard (or in front of the monitor) when someone else is working.

Or, maybe just life in general is just exhausting? I very much sympathize with that sentiment these days, and am sure many of you can as well.

I’ll stop anthropomorphizing the sleepy cat now, though — it might just be an ongoing case of: If I fits. I sits.

Does she fits on top of the fridge? She sits on top of the fridge. Wherever you turn in this house lately, there she is: BKL, fitting, sitting, and pondering the next chapter of her masterpiece. Or, catsterpiece?

Yes, this Caturday edition has been all BKL, all the time. She’s been a little more pushy (and, let’s say, omnipresent!) than her friends lately, but rest assured: They’re still here and happily going about their usual business of sleeping, playing, sleeping, eating, sleeping, and causing trouble.

How’s your Caturday going?

How is your own cat-filled (or cat free) week going? We’re down to the crunch here, so it’s all packing, all the time, interspersed with the occasional change-of-address start-or-stop-service phone call. I’ll be glad when the move is done, and we’ll likely all be settled in nicely by the next irregular Caturday installment.

Be sure to tune in next time for the latest in the exciting ongoing Caturday adventures of the Notorious BKL and Friends.

I bet BKL knows somethings up and she's watching from all angles! Smart and beautiful! I bet the actual move with 3 cats will be very interesting. Do any of them like car rides?

They all HATE the car! It's going to be a loud trip over. :)
