Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: Christmas Clearance Edition. Happy snowy Saturday, everyone! Just a brief romp through some of our cat-related or cat-supervised holiday clearance adventures this week, because I just got in from shoveling and am gearing up to go back out again later.
For instance, you might be wondering what we did to Least Bad Kitty Jeremy above. Well… when Middle School Guy and I visited Target’s very-picked-over 90% off section a couple of weeks ago, he found several holiday-themed small pet hats for $.49-$.59 each. As you can see, Jeremy enjoys his so very, very much that he’s doing his best Grumpy Cat imitation here.
And, as for Bad Kitty Lucy’s Santa hat?
Well, that didn’t really last too very long, did it. She’s much quicker and better at getting these OFF her head than poor old Jeremy, I will say.
What else did the cats score this year? Well, we also picked up this new cardboard cat house to replace last year’s Chanukat model, which finally gave up the ghost after a little over a year of use. This year’s edition ran me $3.49 on clearance at my ALDI (I got the last one!), and seems so far to be worth every penny.
Bad Kitty Gnocchi insisted on supervising every stage of its construction, of course…
There’s really been so much to supervise around here, too! On that same ALDI trip I also picked up a gingerbread house kit. This one was clearanced at $1.74 — and no, it wouldn’t stay up worth anything, so eventually Middle School Guy gave up and just decorated the pieces as cookies….
BKL kept a keen eye on this entire process, with visions of sugar plums dancing in her head, perhaps.
