Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: Cat House Edition

Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: Cat House Edition. So, how was your Thanksgiving week? It’s  been a while since we’ve checked into Caturday here, but that’s largely because my family was visiting from out of town for the holiday week. Their visit apparently inspired Middle School Guy’s creative juices, so he created a lovely palace for the cats out of a cardboard box from Amazon.

Oh and by the way — if you also have a bunch of Amazon boxes from your holiday purchases this year, check out this GiveBackBox program which will generate free shipping labels and allow you to repack your boxes with donated goods for local charities. See more on them here. If you’re looking for Amazon deals, that’s another story, and you might want to visit the deals group on Facebook. 😉

Kitty Inn provided hours of entertainment, both in its creation and for the cats. The side window sports a foil ball for them to bat around, there’s a handy scratching pad inside, and you can just see over on the left that it’s connected to last year’s cardboard kitty emporium from ALDI (which, amazingly, is still hanging on! Who remembers this one from last year’s Chanukat Caturday edition?).

This Thanskgiving, Bad Kitty Lucy also met her canine cousin Max for the first time. Let’s just say that Max was a little more excited to see her than she was to see him, and we’ll leave it at that!

(But here’s a better picture of Max with his human cousins, for those of you wishing that the canine contingent had a bit of representation as well…)

I will say, though, that BKL is a wise steward of the resources at hand. She doesn’t need to wait for anything fancy such as the Kitty Inn, but will make use of any box, Amazon or otherwise. (She oddly lets Middle School Guy carry her around in little boxes like this for extended periods of time…)

Although honestly? A sunbeam is even better than a box when it comes to the BKL relaxation program.

So, how’s your Caturweek (or cat-free week) going?

So, what have you guys been up to this week? We’re slowly settling back into holiday normal (can you believe that Chanukah starts tomorrow night already?!) after a house full of people, so that’s about it for this week’s Caturday. So since that’s us for now, I’ll leave you with the usual question: How’s your own Caturweek (or cat-free week) going? And.. be sure to tune in for the next episode in the exciting ongoing adventures of the Notorious BKL and Friends!

Looks like poor Max forgot to bring a box for BKL. It's so nice that Middle School Guy spends time to entertain his furry friends with the cardboard boxes they so love. Cute!
