Even my pickles have HFCS
Vicky had commented on the Vlasic Farmer's Garden coupon that they don't contain polysorbate 80 as most pickles do. This prompted me to check out this jar of Claussen Kosher mini dills in my fridge, and what do you know: Not only do they contain polysorbate 80, they also contain... HFCS. Really? In my beloved Claussen pickles? Come on!

We grew pickling cucumbers in our garden this year and pickled them and it was so easy!!

We pickled (refrigerator method) our pickling cucumbers too (and regular cucumbers and even my crazy orange ones), super easy recipes and they taste amazing! And best thing, you know exactly what is in it! I used this one... highly recommend exactly as they have WITH the optionals (red pepper flakes and pepper corns). We also tried this with Apple Cider Vinegar and not as good IMO.

I saw that too last time I checked. I put them back. How long has the HCFS been an ingredient??
Another ingredient to watch for is triclosan. Colgate Total includes this ingredient.

The news report that I saw recommended that pregnant women and children avoid this ingredient.
Another thing to watch for in pickles is aluminum. Yes, aluminum! Next time I am at a grocery store I will try to take a photo and post it.
