My new favorite site is eShakti -- Customize a dress for $7.50 more!

So back on 5/26 I bought two dresses from eShakti, which just arrived today. My brother's wedding is coming up in August, and I was thinking one could be for the wedding, and one for the rehearsal dinner. So first off, I need opinions: Appropriate for a summer wedding? (Clearly I'd add shoes... a cami... makeup... jewelry... lol)

The theme of the wedding is "black and white," so I'm thinking the top dress for the wedding, and the cranes dress for the rehearsal dinner. Too casual? Or good. (Keep in mind: I rarely actually wear dresses, lol.)

But now, let me tell you the cool beans part about eShakti. One of the reasons that I rarely wear dresses is that I have trouble finding dresses that fit quite right. Over at eShakti, they will customize any dress for just $7.50 more. That's right. $7.50. You give them all your measurements and your height, and they make the dress to size. Mine came within three weeks, customized, shipped from India -- not bad at all. And they actually fit me, with buttons that button without gaping and a waist that falls where it's supposed to.

Most dresses also come with pockets. YES! Pockets! You can choose to eliminate those in the customize option, although I LOVE this. You can also choose your skirt length, type of sleeve, and more. All included in the $7.50 eShakti customization fee.

Right now, eShakti is having a buy two get one free sale -- the price of your lowest priced item will automatically come off in the cart. I think this pink polka dot one is adorable for spring! Try code klpanaches or latitudes or loves for another 10% off that.

  1. Well you look very nice in both. The black and white is great. If you feel good in them, then they are perfect. I think accessories are what makes the outfit, so, if you feel too casual, then try out different belts and jewelry and shoes. I wouldn't mess with the black and white too much as it just looks great on you. What a great company to customize so cheap and you surely won't see your dress anywhere you go.

  2. You look great in both - but the stripe skirt is my favorite! I think some chic black heels and jewlery would make that fantastic for the wedding.

  3. I think you look great in the first one. The second one doesn't appear very flattering to your figure, but that may just be due to the angle the picture was taken at. Personally, I don't care for the collar, the buttons, or the belt. The bottom is pretty. And pockets on a non-casual dress seems a little strange to me.

I do love the idea of buying something that's made to fit me so I took a look at their site and holy yikes on the prices.

  4. I think they both look great on you and perfect for the occasions. I love the pockets too, that is very interesting! I dont wear dresses either because they are always too long and too tight in the bust so this seems like a great option. Thanks for all your great finds, this is my favorite site by far!

  5. they both look good on you. I seldom wear a dress, having used the same one for the last 3 years for summer weddings, mainly for the same reason. It's so had to find one that fits well. These look great - don't forget to post pictures of you at the wedding!

  6. You look so cute and confident. I am busty also, so I avoid buttons. One librarian to another- go the the library and get a book on what busty women wear. It's tough, everything can fit and then there's the girls. I have been amazed by what different patterns have achieved. I am glad you mentioned the cami- I didn't think you were one of those couponers. 🙂 I do like the black and white striped dress.

  7. The dress with the stripes is perfect for the wedding. The other dress - I think - would be more flattering without the belt. Currently, there is a lot going on there. If you remove the belt, you will have another winner.

  8. You look very pretty in the black and white dress! I love pockets and I think the neck line is very flattering. It will be perfect with some simple jewelry.

  9. The dresses are both really cute! I wonder what the crane one would look like with a pink scarf around the neck? I agree with those who said to take the belt off, but I also think a little color closer to your face might bring the eye up a bit. I really love the black & white one - you could stay neutral and safe with your accessories or add some bold shoes & a purse to make them pop. Either way, that one is a hit!

  10. They both look great! I do like the black and white one more its so pretty and it looks great on you.

  11. The black and white striped is flattering on you. Walmart has those chunky statement necklaces for $5 which would look fabulous with your dress.

  12. The blk & white is definitely more dressy. The other dress could use a sweater or jacket to tone down the buttons and the bow, but it's August so don't do that. Maybe some bright colored shoes that match the pink in the skirt would jazz it up a notch.

  13. Black and white cute ,if you had a Lacey camisole under ,will help tone down cleavage when sitting especially !

  14. Black and white is adorable. I, too, am a busty gal, so feel your pain. The bottom one seems wrinkly/cheap. Sorry, but we love you and want to be Truth Tellers b/c that's what pals do 🙂

  15. Thanks, everyone! No worries -- sincerely looking for opinions. Like all of you I do like the black and white one a lot better (with a cami!). I like the cranes design on the second one but not how it looks on me as much -- will play with accessories and see. (But, it fits! and that's amazing in and of itself, lol.)

  16. They are cute, but personally I think they are both too casual for a wedding. The black and white could be good only if the fabric is nice, but I can't tell that from the picture. Probably it would be good (at least for the rehearsal dinner), like you said, with the addition of jewelry, make up, cami and shoes.
The second one is ok for every day casual wear.

    1. I agree with Outlander. Both are too casual for a wedding (unless a casual or beach wedding or something) especially if it's your brother (family). I do think the black and white dress would be good for the rehearsal dinner. I like the bottom dress because it looks fun but for casual wear only. And I like the belt (I'm worried it would look too much like a tent dress without it but I don't know without seeing it that way). You could also switch out different colors for the belt for a look fitting the occasion (pink would look cute!)! That's great you found something that fits YOU! Sounds like a great site to customize your own dresses!

  17. My vote is for the black and white. And I LOVE that it has pockets 🙂 I'm not really digging the white one too much...seems too casual for either event. I do love the pretty print at the bottom of the white one, but the top part has too much going on.

  18. You look great in both, my suggestions a beige or off white belt so it doesn't cut you off in the middle and bright accessories. And for the black and white dress a little bling. And btw thanks for posting, I love all their styles and I can't wait to try out one their cute dresses. Right up my alley. 🙂

  19. They just sent me a $25 thank you for ordering gift card -- so...

I combined it with the 10% off code to get the above for $51.91 shipped. Maybe more wedding appropriate, although maybe still too casual with the fabric? I added cap sleeves. I'll let you guys know! lol

  20. I just wanted to thank you for posting info on this site! I have a wedding to attend and I remembered your pretty dresses from earlier in the summer. I just placed my first order on EShakti and I went through your link so hopefully you will get a referral credit. Can't wait to see my new dress!
