Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends: All Bad Kitty Lucy edition

Welcome back to Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends… All Bad Kitty Lucy edition. Yes, she’s suffering from a serious case of cattitude lately.

Oh my, says The Notorious Bad Kitty Lucy: Is it Caturday again already? How does this keep happening?

Caturday is apparently grooming day around here, whether this takes place in a sunbeam, cuddled up with a cozy R2-D2 Squishmallow, or more.

I hope you all don’t mind the semi-occasional detours from recipes and ALDI into the adventures of our three bad kitties over here. They’re just so darn shareable, and sometimes (gasp) there’s more to life than food!

But here, to tie things together nicely: Let’s even bring it back to ALDI for a minute. You know how they had pet towels as a special buy a couple of weeks ago? Bad Kitty Lucy is modeling hers for your enjoyment, because High School Guy wanted one for his cats… but they’re still a bit too big, being meant for dogs and all.

In case you’re wondering, no. BKL is not a fan of her new towel, no matter how cute it is on her.

Despite her expression here, she’s much more of a fan of High School Guy’s black taekwondo uniform… probably because she realizes how well her lovely white fur sticks to it in beautiful contrast. (Why, yes: I should buy stock in pet hair rollers one of these days…) Wherever he leaves this, BKL is bound to find and curl up on it as soon as feline-ly possible.

Or hey, maybe it’s just her boy she loves — despite the whole pet towel and other related incidents. (Speaking of cats, I have a couple of these grumpy-ish cat pieces of artwork like the one above the table above: One of my better thrift store finds, and I think I’ve finally settled on between the windows here as being the perfect spot for this one.)

What else is BKL enjoying lately? Well, I’ve been letting her hang out outside with me while I pick tomatoes and peppers from the garden. She never goes far, but just likes to hide in the plants and sniff the world. It’s funny how conditioned she is now — if I even touch the side door to the garden, she appears instantly by my side from anywhere in the house, impatient for adventure.

BKL also got to hang out on the trampoline with both boys occasionally, before College Guy went back to school. They figure it works as a giant outdoor playpen for cats, letting her appreciate the outdoors while keeping her contained. (And yes: They’re both very good about not bouncing her around in there!)
