Caturday with the Notorious BKL and Friends — Sleepy Kitten Edition

It’s really a rough life being a kitten: All of the requisite pouncing and bouncing and flouncing around can really take it out of a girl. Miss Bad Kitten Gnocchi is pretty much fully recovered from last week’s vet visit, however, and was even tricked out with self-dissolving stitches so that we don’t have to go back to have them removed. Such a deal! Her patch of shaved fur is also starting to grow back, allowing her to regain what little dignity a kitten actually possesses.

No Books for You!

Meanwhile, the Notorious Bad Kitty Lucy is doing her best to stomp out literacy by disallowing the removal of any more library books from this bag. (Look at that expression; it’s like she’s daring us even to try it.)

And then… and THEN… she goes and gets BKG in on the act. Because every queen knows the importance of delegating… Oh, and I just realized this week that Gnocchi is now about the same age as BKL was when we got her — but that she’s already had months of training in BKL’s ways. I think we’re in for it.

BKL also continues trying to indoctrinate Jeremy, with varying degrees of success. They don’t look at all suspicious here, do they?

You are NOT a Little Potato

Speaking of Jeremy: Psst, cat! You’re kind of a spud, it’s true, but you’re really more like a big old baked potato than “The Little Potato,” don’t you think?

Here, let’s let Gnocchi demonstrate! Now that’s a little potato… and note: You don’t really need fancy kitty houses or beds or cat trees for your cats, because this box from Costco + a little scratching mat have provided hours of entertainment for all three of them. They scratch around in it, sleep in it, fight over it…

And, speaking of entertainment… maybe BKG can remind Jeremy how to play, too! Can anyone spot the big potato lurking in the background here?

Here, let her demonstrate

You know these fidget spinners? Well, they’re not just for kids anymore!

In non-cat-related news: SLIME

The big non-cat-related news this week: Mr. 10 and his lovely friend Ms. 10 finally succeeded in making a batch of slime. I believe this is try number 6? Or maybe 7? In any case, they were VERY pleased with their success this week, and I’m afraid that more experimentation is in our future now that they have the basics down pat.

(It cracks me up that Amazon now sells whole gallons of Elmer’s liquid school glue that specifically say: “Great for Making Slime!” They’re no fools…)

How’s your own Caturweek (or Cat-Free week) going?

That’s about it for this week’s Caturday, so let me know how your week was!

I look forward to your Caturday updates. The video of BKG playing with the fidget spinner is so cute. She is good at it! And the pic of Jeremy (big potato) in the background is funny! Photo bomb!!

I think cats are kind of like kids in a way. I guess cats just settle for small boxes, whereas kids don't get excited unless it's the size of at least a dishwasher. It will be interesting to see what happens next with Jeremy. Sooooo, what do you do with a batch of slime?

You squish it and stretch it and squish it some more. Apparently. It's all the rage among the elementary school set these days, lol.
