Stopped by the Downers Grove Angelo Caputo’s while I was out and about this afternoon, and they had 5 oz clamshells of organic salads (and baby spinach!) on sale for just $.99. Not sure if this will be all stores or just a DG special.

lavazza

But here’s a deal that was an advertised price. Select varieties of Lavazza bagged coffee (I got hazelnut!) are on sale for $5.49 through Tuesday. Use the $2.00/1 in the 11/2 SS, pay $3.49, and claim $2.50 back from Checkout 51 for a net cost of just $.99.

So here’s what I picked up:

Lavazza coffee, $5.49. Used $2.00/1 from the 11/2 SS and got $2.50 back from Checkout 51.

orange and yellow bell peppers, $.69.
Lemon, $.20.

Paid $8.58 and already got $2.75 back in my Checkout 51 account, for a net cost of $5.83.

Produce for soup and kids (plus bacon!) shopping

caputos11-1

Today the kids and I found ourselves down on Roosevelt Road in Downers Grove, so stopped in at both Caputo’s and Jewel. Caputo’s is a ZOO on the weekend, but they’re having some very nice produce sales — plus they were sampling La Croix cola flavored sparkling water, which was surprisingly good. The turkey I pulled out of the freezer to thaw on Monday is now about cooked up, so making stock overnight in the crockpot with the bones for soup tomorrow, so needed to get mushrooms, spinach, celery to supplement what I already had in the house. The broccoli we’ll have with the turkey tonight, along with baked potatoes (more $.10 ones from Pete’s earlier in the week).

Caputo’s

Bunch spinach, $.79.
Black seedless grapes, $2.28.
Broccoli crowns, $.76.
2 avocados, $1.38.
Yellow campari tomatoes, $.69.
Mushrooms, $1.49.
Figs, $1.00.
2 lbs baby carrots, $.99.
Celery, $.50.

Paid $10.05.

Jewel

jewel11-1

At Jewel I completely forgot to get the silly McCormick spice cards, oh well. But tomorrow: Big old bacon, eggs, and pancakes Sunday breakfast. :)

2 dozen eggs, $1.98.
Bacon, $2.99.
Bananas, $.36.
Green seedless grapes, $2.12.

Paid $7.58. Will get back $.25 from Checkout 51 for bacon for a net cost of $7.33.
