Here are the best Ultra Foods coupon matchups and deals I see for the week of 6/20/13. Sale prices start at 6AM on Thursday.

  • I’m using the Lombard version of their ad (valid for Lombard, Downers Grove, Wheaton, and Crestwood), so note that some pricing can vary at other stores, particularly on the extreme value meat deals or the cereal deals. Check your own store’s ad to verify. It doesn’t happen a lot, but it does happen.

Stopped by CVS and Ultra real quick this morning. I had a $5.00 ECB expiring, so did this at CVS:

3 Kleenex, $2.97.
milk, $2.99.
2 Dry Idea, $6.00. Used two FREE from a long ago giveaway thing.

Used a $4/$20 that came in email and $5.00 in ECB. Paid $1.87 and got back $10 ECB ($9.00 for Almay and $1.00 for Dry Idea). Also got $5.00 Beauty Club ECB from the magic machine, for popping over my last $50 in purchases earlier this week. So, up $8.13 today.

Down the road at Ultra Foods:

Six avocados, $4.88.

Paid $4.95. So for the day, I paid $6.82 out of pocket, but my net cost was -$3.18. :)

That’ll teach me to be environmentally friendly — coming out of Ultra Foods today, the handle completely ripped off my reusable bag in the middle of the parking lot. It wasn’t even heavy! But, that’s the kind of day I am having here. How’s yours? :)

523jewelultra

So I stopped by Ultra Foods and Jewel this morning. Here’s what I bought and what I saw.

Pub burgers

pub8515

Some of you have asked how lean the pub burgers are. The ones I picked up today were 85/15 — which is awesome for $2.00/lb. And you know, you can break this up into hamburger and use it in recipes, too. :)

Cereal

postatultra

At the Lombard Ultra Foods, all flavors of Shredded Wheat were on sale 6/$10.00 (limit 6), not just the Honey Nut listed in the ad. FREE with the $2.00/1 in the 4/28 SS.

Also included: Post Grape Nuts Fit and Post Great Grains Protein. There’s an exp. $1.00/1 for each of these in the 3/17 SS. It expired 4/28 — Ultra takes expireds back 30 days, so you have a few more days to use these. So, just $.67 each after the $1.00/1, which is a great price for “adult” cereals like this.

What I bought

Ultra Foods

6 Post Shredded Wheat cereals, $10.00. Used six $2.00/1 from the 4/28 SS (which scanned for the overage).
2 baby carrots, $1.98.
Dozen eggs, $.48 with in-ad coupon.

Got $.10 off for bringing my own bags and paid $.60.

Jewel

10 pub burgers, $9.98. (They’re just priced at $2.00/lb, so some packages are variable weight.)
2 Land O’ Lakes butter tubs, $3.00. Used two $.50/1 printables.

Paid $12.21. So, the above was a total of $12.81.

Is it goofy that I’m just as excited about the $2.00/lb pub burgers as about the $.60 haul at Ultra? lol…
