Simple Sheet Pan Green Beans

Simple side dishes are where it’s at, and roasting vegetables brings out their best flavor. Simple Sheet Pan Green Beans go with most any main dish, to round out your meal!

I’m not much for complicated side dishes, so will often just roast veggies, throw together a salad, or bake potatoes. It’s easy to change up the flavor profile of your roasted veggies by swapping out seasonings or mixing up different combinations, but here’s how I roasted up a pan of Simple Sheet Pan Green Beans recently.

Roasted green beans with thyme and Parmesan

Keep things simple by throwing a pan of veggies in the oven while you’re working on your main dish, or to roast for the last 20 minutes or so of the main meal. Start with this basic oven roasted green beans recipe, and then you can change up the seasonings to fit your own tastes.

Super seasoned, sufficiently salty, and slightly spicy

Sheet Pan Green Beans -- Roasted green beans are a super easy and flavorful side dish!

These green beans are super seasoned and flavorful! (Omit the crushed red pepper if you’re sensitive to spice.) The touch of Parmesan at the end adds the perfect salty tang, too.

Try this simple vegetable side dish when green beans are in season at your local produce store: The fresher the green bean, the more fantastic the final product. I prefer roasting fresh green beans over serving frozen or canned, simply because of the difference in texture. Canned has its place in stews and soups, but invest in fresh for roasting; it really makes a difference.

Simple sheet pan green beans are both vegetarian and gluten free.
