… aside from the fact that I don’t so much care for their business practices. I haven’t been to Walmart in over a year, but have been reading about everyone else’s great deals, so thought I’d give it another chance.
First, the good — got a couple of OK deals. For Mr. 2’s birthday in a couple of weeks, I picked up a little play kitchen on clearance for $21 and play food for $5. (Shh, don’t tell him!) Side note — WHY do pictures of play kitchens almost always feature little girls dressed in pink? Boys like cooking, food, and pretend play too, people. But anyway…
Also got a nice little file to try to reorganize my coupons, free Suave lotion (3oz size is .97, used the 1.25 coupon from the inserts a couple of weeks ago for free + overage), and baking soda for .07 (small boxes .57, use printable 1.00/2).
The bad: Disorganized, kind of ratty, didn’t have half of what I was looking for, prices MUCH higher on many items than I’ve seen listed elsewhere. (Yay for living in Chicagoland.)
The offputting: The cashier went on at length about how she thought (Korean-born) Mr. 2 must be Filipino like her because of his “chinky eyes.”
Thus ends my tale of Walmart — don’t stay tuned, because I don’t think I’ll be heading back anytime soon!
