Are you looking to bring in some extra income?
Since this company has come up a couple of times recently in the Facebook group, I thought it might be useful to do a post about how to earn extra income with VIPKID. Here’s what it’s all about, and how you might qualify to make some extra income online, in your spare time ($14-$22 per hour!).
What is VIPKID?
Ranked #1 in the Forbes Magazine list of the top 100 work from home companies, VIPKID hires teachers to teach English online, from home, to Chinese students aged 4-12. Headquartered in Beijing, VIPKID offers fully immersive, online, one-on-one English language training based on the U.S. Common Core State Standards.
How do you qualify?
In order to work for VIPKID, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree in any field, plus one year of either traditional teaching experience — or its equivalent in mentoring, tutoring, or alternative education. (This can include Youth group or Scout leaders, mentors, tutors, coaches, and more.)
How does this work?
After you apply to work with VIPKID, a mentor will contact you (typically within 24 hours) to set up a 10 minute practice/audition class. Once you pass the interview, you’ll be asked to participate in a mock class before you move on to teaching real kids.
You should be available to teach at least 7.5 hours per week, but you can set your own schedule — work as many or as few hours as you’d like. VIPKID teachers receive ongoing training and access to both local events and online groups.
A great summer job for teachers
VIPKID is a great way for teachers to bring in some extra income during the summer — or, for anyone with the required qualifications and experience to bring in some side income! Check it out; I’ve heard nothing but good things. 🙂
