Zaycon Foods has just opened up Illinois pickups for boneless skinless chicken breast in April!
I know some of you have been waiting — and talk about a lot of notice this time, lol. Gives you time to clear out room for 40lbs of chicken in your freezer (or an incentive to get that Jewel one…). If you’re not in IL, they opened up other events all across the country today, so see what’s by you. I just ordered mine!
Again, if you’re not familiar with Zaycon Foods,
- They sell fresh meat products by the case.
- Head to local pickup locations at a specified date and time to pick up your order.
- They schedule events across the country; and were last in IL this month with ham and sausage only.
- Here’s my old review of their chicken, if you’re curious and want to see some pix!
- I buy the chicken now every time they come through, and it’s been really nice quality.
How much chicken did you say that was again?
- 40 lbs of boneless skinless chicken breast at $1.79 a pound. They do charge tax, but it’s the low food tax, so that comes to $73.21 with tax.
Pickup locations and getting together
They have a lot of pickup locations again this time, so hopefully there is a date and time that will work for you. They have added many Saturday pickups! Head over to Zaycon to place your order now. And please feel free to chat and get together in comments about splitting orders, if these are too large for your family. Edited to add: You can also talk about splitting orders over in the Mashup Mom Coupon Trading Facebook group.
Illinois locations for the chicken event include:
Bolingbrook
Champaign
Decatur
DeKalb
Effingham
Elk Grove Village
Greenville
Gurnee
Joliet
Moline

All pickups are in April. See the Zaycon site for specific locations and times.

Yay! My mom is so jealous of my chicken, and now I don’t have to be stingy about it! I can share freely, since we can both stock up in April! These chicken breasts are seriously the best ever!
Mmmm… I want bacooooon!
I know this has been asked before: but has anyone tried their ham + sausage package?
This is the first time they had it in IL, I think, so it would have to have been someone in another state
The chicken is OK and I plan on buying it but I really wish they would bring back the bacon and/or the ground beef. They had the best bacon!
Just ordered my chicken! Yesterday, knowing in my heart that I had used all the chicken in the freezer, I still dug through all the DiGiorno pizzas, down through the Kraft cheese, removed all the Butterball turkeys and alas, not a single chicken breast was to be found! Gonna have to buy some at the store to tide us over until the Zaycon order comes in.
Does anyone know if their meats are organic?
They are not.
Thanks
Am I the only person who was not a huge fan of the chicken? My mom and I split a case and we were both not impressed. The beef on the other hand was delicious. Passing on the chicken
Nancy, what about the chicken did you not like,I am just wondering? I found that it was super fresh, the breasts were HUGE,and I felt good knowing that there were no antibiotics or hormones used. Sure,it took a bit to prepare them for freezing, between trimming the fat and food saving them, but to me,that’s just a testament to how fresh they actually are. I ordered the ham this time too,but I Can’t wait for the beef! Where’s the beef?
OK — bacon and ground beef people. I asked about those events and they said nothing is set in stone yet but they are AIMING for bacon ordering opening in april for june delivery, and ground beef opening in june for august delivery. So, hopefully that will happen
When I picked up my beef they said they would be here TEN times a year.
Suggestion for those buying chicken- bring large trashbags to put the box of chicken in before puting in your car. I picked up 6 cases last time and although I put them on a tarp, I did not bag them and ended up with chicken juice in my car interior!!!! Nothing smells worse! If you are unfortunate enough to have this happen, enzyme cleaner bought from the pet store( used for cleaning up urine) works wonders!!!!
Really? Yikes! I have bought the chicken a couple of times and never had it leak — good idea though.
