This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Wonder bread for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

This post is kind of bittersweet given the recent Hostess Brands news — but I had this Wonder Bread post in mind long before their announcement! So, let’s take a nostalgic look at how you can incorporate Wonder wheat sandwich bread into your Thanksgiving traditions with this kid pleasing turkey dessert. (And, for those wanting to sneak SOMETHING somewhat healthy into their desserts, Wonder Bread wheat sandwich bread has no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives and zero grams of trans fat, as well as less sodium than some other wheat breads.)

You will need: One loaf of Wonder wheat sandwich bread. Candy corn. And hazelnut spread. Easy-peasy, right?! One of our Thanksgiving traditions: Easy desserts — because the rest is complicated enough. And this will be a fun kid-assisted crafty dessert or afternoon snack to create in the week leading up to the holiday, if the ancitipation is just too much.
Step 1

Liberally spread two slices of Wonder Bread with your hazelnut spread of choice.
Step 2

Cut one piece of bread into a round turkey-shaped body. Cut the other into pieces for the feathers, head, and legs.
Step 3

Assemble your turkey. Enlist small helpers to eat the crusts.
Step 4

Add candy corn feathers, beak, eye, and feet!
Step 6

Enjoy!

Mr. 5 wasn’t QUITE sure how to pick this up! lol

… but he finally figured it out.
The funny part is…

He then asked for just a plain piece of bread! Yes, it’s that good.
(Please ignore my messy kitchen in the background — there’s all sorts of getting ready for Thanksgiving craziness going on.)

The Aldi hazelnut spread tastes very similar to Nutella.
Not “messy”……”lived in” is what we call it.
and where did all those tablecloths come from, anyway? are you living like the grown-ups now?
