Remember this nice high value $5.00/2 Almay coupon that came out yesterday? Almay is buy one, get one 50% off at Walgreens this week, and there is a $2.00/1 store coupon in the March booklet to stack! Note unadvertised Walgreens prices can vary from store to store and region to region — I have two stores three miles apart, and one consistently has higher prices than the other, so the below is a general guide and prices at your store may differ.
- Buy two makeup removers, buy one get one 50% off at $5.99, = $8.98.
- Use the $5.00/2 manufacturer coupon and the $2.00 off store coupon (should take $2.00 off each).
- Net cost: FREE. If you give the manufacturer coupon first you might get the $.02 overage, so have something else in your order.
Or, eye shadows and eye liners run around $7.49. Buy one of those and one makup removing wipes at 50% off $5.49 ($2.75), and you’re at $10.24. Use the $5.00/2 manufacturer coupon and the $2.00 off IVC and you’re at $1.24 for both, or $.62 each.

Does anyone know if this works, yet? If I try it soon I will post, but I’m wondering because the coupon states “Almay COSMETIC Products” and does not have a picture of the eye makeup removers on it. In the past, I’ve had trouble with the mfg coupons from the inserts when using them on the M/U remover (it’s a staple of mine!), BUT, those almost always show it in the photo, so I point it out and they push it through no prob. Hmm.
Never mind – I see several people on the Wild for Wags post have commented that it worked for them, so I’m going for it!
It worked for me twice but they adjusted the coupon value down to $4.98… then just tax!!!
Coupon wasn’t accepted. Registered said I didn’t have a correct item and the manager said that a remover was not a makeup item. None for me.
aha, see, that’s what I was afraid of.
Well I should get a chance on my way home from work tomorrow, we’ll see. Thanks for the followup Jean!
Actually I had the same thing happen (beeped and register rejected coupon-not correct item)because your coupon exceeds the price of the items. They manually adjusted the coupon by .02 each coupon and I have 4 removers which I use all the time so well worth the trip to Walgreens. I would suggest you try another store.
I went to a Naperville Walgreens and got the eye make-up remover and it worked. I got 4 almay eye make-up removers and used the $5 off 2 and the march book coupon, $2 off 2. They adjusted my coupon to $4.98 because you have to pay the tax. So I paid $1.30 for 4.
Blargh, wasted trip – manager wouldn’t adjust coupon down so I left empty handed. YMMV, I guess!
