Waiting for my new Madison Reed hair color — and how’s it holding up?

Madison Reed hair color, five weeks in!

When I posted this Madison Reed hair color review a few weeks ago, some of you asked for an update to see how their non-ammonia-based hair color holds up over time. It’s now been five weeks and one day since I last colored my hair, and in the above casual sitting-at-my-desk selfie I just snapped you can see it’s holding up pretty nicely. I wasn’t sure how it would wear, but the color is still a good dark brown with red highlights showing through — and redder when I’m out in the sun, too. It’s faded a little and is less red than when I first dyed it, but still has a really nice color and depth.

I do need to re-color, though, since my lovely gray roots are growing out. Waiting for my next shipment to be delivered this Friday, so I can freshen up the color this coming weekend — and I’m now subscribed to their continuous color plan to receive a new coloring kit (at a $5 subscription discount) every five weeks! 🙂

I am interested in how you are liking your hair color after a few months. I am getting ready to try my first application of Madison Reed. Any suggestions before I give it a whirl?

Hope that you like it! My second time I got distracted and left it on too long so it got a little dark, so my suggestion is: Don't be me, just follow their directions. :)

Being a X hair dresser I am more critical ,the picture you took outside was more natural ,inside color is a little artificial looking , I am a firm believer of doing your out growth first for30-45 minutes ,and then last 5-10 on whole head . But remember we see hair in a much different way .Like a dentist look at teeth (:
