Here are the best Ultra Foods coupon matchups and deals I see for the week of 2/28/13. I’m using the Lombard version of their ad (valid for Lombard, Downers Grove, Wheaton, and Crestwood), so note that some pricing and Ultra Foods deals can vary at other stores, particularly on the extreme value meat deals and sometimes on the cereal deals. Check your own store’s ad to verify.

Things to know at Ultra
Just a few:
- At some Ultras, Catalinas will NOT print at the self-checkouts, so use the registers.
- Ultra accepts expired manufacturer coupons back 30 days; they do not accept expired store coupons.
- Ultra limits to 12 like coupons per trip.
- View the Ultra coupon policy here (click on your local store from this link and it will come up). They now accept manufacturer Catalinas from other stores; however, they will not accept Register Rewards from Walgreens.
- Some Ultras will give you a $.05 credit off your total for each reusable bag you bring in and use, so be sure to mention them to your cashier.

Rachel, when you say use the BOGO as well on the Pantene deal, do you mean in addition to the other coupons you stated? The store I go to does not allow you to use a bogo coupon with a coupon on the item you are purchasing. I just read the coupon policy and frankly am still confused. It reads “We will issue credit based on the terms listed on the coupon for “Buy one Get One Free” coupons or “Free Coupons”. This is not clear to me if you can piggyback or not. Since so many store associates are ignorant to policies I typically just refer to the written policy as apposed to my cashier concept of what is allowed but I have read it and am still uncertain. Please guide me ole wise one:)
I have a similar question to Lisa’s… If I buy 16 pantene, use 4 $3/2, 4 bogos, and 2 $2/2 printables, that’s 16 items and since the bogo’s attach to only one product because the contingency of the getting one free is buying one…. i would be allowed to use all 10 coupons right? because i would be allowed to use the $2/2 on the “buy one” pantenes…. right? If i’m doing this math right, thats 6.52 for 16 pantene??
If all the coupons go through them it’s a MM because the amount you have listed is before the rebate!
The Ultra Foods coupon policy is not at all clear on this. At the store it seems to be hit or miss depending on the store and which cashier you get, people have reported it both ways in the past. Sorry I don’t have a more definitive answer!
Lisa are going to the Ultra in Kankakee? If so, you can use one coupon per item. BOGO coupons only count towards one item. I use BOGO coupons with dollar off coupons at Ultra all the time without a problem.
Thanks Rachael & Marjie for your help. I typically go through self check out and some coupons don’t scan so they manually enter them (the newer type bar codes). I assumed that they did allow it and was told no at the Kankakee location. I think I will try again going through the regular check outs. I could be doing much better shopping if I shopped with you Marjie as you report having luck with piggybacking in the same store:) I will give the Pantene deal a whirl!
Did you do the Pantene deal at K3 Ultra Lisa?
I am only doing it IF you had no problems w/ using the piggyback BOGO w/ the cents off cp.
You will get lots more Pantene at Ultra than you will at Jewel, except you will hav to wait for the $10 Visa instead of getting the $5 store Cat from Jewel right away.
I am willing to wait!
Jane,I can report that the Ultra Pantene deal was a go,thanks to Marjie for telling me she has no problem with piggy backing. I avoided the self check out, the new cashier that was reading every line of my coupons questioned the use and called the front end manager. She looked at the items, counted the coupons and stated it was well within proper use and tried to explain it to the cashier. The cashier was totally confused and just said she would take her managers word for it. I unfortunately did not have 4 BOGO’s so I did the following:
15 Pantene at $1.88 ea =$28.20
2 Tide pods-$3.88 ea=$7.76
Total of $35.96
Use 3 Pantene BOBO @ 1.88=$5.64
2 Pantene $2/2 printables=$4
3 Pantene $3/2 P&G’s =$9.00
2 Pantene $1/1 from mailer (Home made simple?)= $2.00
2 Tide $1/1 (Home made simple?)= $2.00
Total Of Coupons=$22.64
So, $35.96-22.64-$10.00 rebate = $3.32
I think this is a smoking deal for all the above:) Happy Shopping, they had a lot left. They even had the Brooms/Mops.
Lisa-Awesome results and deal! I was there this AM but only picked up the eggs and some bananas because hubby was sitting in the car. I will go back later for the Pantene/P&G deal. I did not see your reply here until just now and was awaiting your results in order to “attempt” the Pantenes!
Ultra was swamped today, naturally because it is the 1st of month and I even waited for a self- check lane. I was given grief over the 55 cent off 2 egg coupon and the lady helping me was trying to tell me it was a fraudulent coupon! She said they will not get reimbursed for my home printed coupon but she would allow it this once….bla bla bla….I told her it was a legit cp from Smart Source and I have used cps like that many times there before.
So you can imagine why I did not try the Pantene deal today. I will go back before the sale is over now that you have enlightened me. Thanks for your help!-Jane
Jane,
Your egg fiasco is exactly why I have decided to avoid the self checkouts. It puts a damper on my day to be quasi excused of unethical behavior and I like to avoid it at all costs. Really? Are you going to bother being corrupt over .55 cents? No worries, I think they were expecting quite a response as they seemed to have a lot of stock and it is much easier without the hubby waiting in the car (mine waits in the car as well and I think this is common as the last time he went with when I came out of the store he remarked that it looked like Midway’s landing strip with all the men pulling up for their wives:)
I also went today and had no problem using the BOGO coupons with the $3/2. I never go thru the self check out at Ultra if I am using coupons because the coupons never scan at the self check out. I did notice that Ultra still had a whole box of the brooms and mops on top of the shelves when you first walk in.
I have had no problems at Ultra using both coupons. They scan at the regular check out without a problem. I have had cashier supervisors in the morning and at night tell me that they do allow it. I will probable try it out tomorrow.
Is there a particular order for giving coupons when you use BOGO and $ off?
It doesn’t really matter. I give the BOGO first because they have to write in a price and it’s easier to find the item’s price if that item is last and the coupon is first. (Although at ultra it pops up the matching item on the screen, so less worries.) The BOGO will always beep anyway to ask for a price.
You have to spend $35 in one transaction correct? I didn’t plan too well and used the BOGO coupons and bought 6 Pantene. Then I read rebate which said in one transaction. Guess I will have to try again.
Town & Country had a display of Crest Complete Whitening Herbal Mint for 2/3.00 as well. It comes with a tiny bottle of Scope and $13 in coupons for Crest line.
Lombard still had a lot of the broom and mops with coupons plus lots of Pantene and Purina One as of today. Plus, there was someone from Pepsi there handing out free cans of Diet Coke and coupons for free 2-liters!
Has anyone tried this at the Ultra in Downers Grove on 75th Street? I do not usually go to Ultra, I will have the coupon policy with me, just in case. I am trying this tomorrow since I am going to Jewel and Meijers tonight. ANy input will be appreciated.
