Here are the best Ultra Foods coupon matchups and deals I see for the week of 1/3/13. I’m using the Lombard version of their ad (valid for Lombard, Downers Grove, Wheaton), so note that some pricing can vary at other Ultra stores, particularly on the extreme value meat deals and sometimes on the cereal deals. Check your own store’s ad to verify.

Things to know at Ultra

Just a few:

  • At some Ultras, Catalinas will NOT print at the self-checkouts, so use the registers.
  • Ultra accepts expired manufacturer coupons back 30 days; they do not accept expired store coupons.
  • View the Ultra coupon policy here (click on your local store from this link and it will come up). They now accept manufacturer Catalinas from other stores; however, they will not accept Register Rewards from Walgreens.
  • Some Ultras will give you a $.05 credit off your total for each reusable bag you bring in and use, so be sure to mention them to your cashier.

For the Duracell batteries, I have ten of the $2 coupons but the coupon policy states that – The total value of coupons may not exceed the value of the transaction. We do not issue cash credit or payout from a coupon purchase.
Will I be able to use them?

    • rachel says:

They will either scan through for overage toward other items in your order (which sometimes happens regardless) or they will adjust the coupon value down to $1.88. They will not give cash back.

  3. Amy says:

The checkout person adjusted my Duracell coupons down to $1.88 each. Does it say in the store’s coupon policy that they should adjust? They usually give me the overage at Ultra.

    • rachel says:

Yes. Their coupon policy says they won’t give overage. In practice their registers often scan coupons through, but if they notice they will adjust down.

  4. Anna says:

Keep an eye out for pull coupons on the big box that the Kelloggs cereal bars come in worth $1.00 off produce w purchase of 2 cereal bars. I was able to get 3 boxes of cereal, 2 boxes of cereal bars for $8.30, and then 2lbs of bananas for $.18 and a free gallon of milk! Great breakfast deal!

  5. maggie says:

I used the expired $4/2 for the Duracell batteries. I used self-check out, which allows the overage.
