I was driving past Walmart today, so thought I’d drop in, buy some stuff, submit my receipt to Savings Catcher, and see what happens. I’ll report back when they do! So far:

Celery, $1.28.
Carrots, $.78.
Laughing Cow, $2.50. Used $1.00/1 printable coupon. Got $1.00 back from Ibotta.
Potatoes, $2.57.
Palmolive, $2.47. Used $.50/1 from the August AY and submitted for the $5.00 Walmart gift card rebate here.
2 Ziploc freezer bags, $5.96. Used $2.00/2 printable (which would not scan in… they finally put it in manually, but ymmv). Got $2.50 back from Ibotta.
Bananas, $.62. Got $.25 back from Checkout 51.
Silk almond milk, $2.98. Used $1.00/1 printable.

So I paid $15.46. Got back $3.50 from Ibotta already (plus a $.50 August teamwork bonus) and $.25 from Checkout 51. That brings me to $11.21. Then I should get the $5.00 gift card back from Palmolive, so $6.21. And we’ll see what Savings Catcher brings me, if anything! lol

Note — if you’re doing the Laughing Cow or Ziploc rebates on Ibotta, they are both only good through today 8/22!

You can also download the Walmart app for iphone (and presumably Android) and once you register your phone and login to your walmart account, you can just scan the receipt in about 2 seconds, select purchase date and submit. I just installed the app today after typing in all the #s online and the app works beautifully.

I would rather price match right at the register before I pay , I do matching from stores all over the area !
Hope this isn’t something they plan on doing instead of how they are doing it now.Don’t you agree ?

Well, since the two times I’ve attempted to price match in my life have both ended in disaster, no. lol — but I don’t think it’s supposed to replace matching at the register, but to catch stuff you may have missed. You can currently do both.

Someone somewhere (wish I could remember where I read it) said that they had already price matched in the store and got back additional money because Savings Catcher spotted an even lower price!

I have been using Walmart’s Savings Catcher. It claims to check the ads from all of the stores within a 30 mile radius. For me it compares 65 stores many that I do not get as from. So far I have scanned 5 receipts and have $7.07 on my ecard.

I tried the savings catcher last week and it worked! I’m still not convinced it’s going to catch all my price matches. And why would I pay more for the items and wait for them to give it back? But it found two other items I didn’t even know were less elsewhere. I bought two cans of Hormel Chili for 1.24 and 4 cans of Libbys veggies for 79 cents and the savings catcher found them lower and gave me the difference back in an egift card. The chili was CVS. But the veggies were from an ad that I don’t even get in my sale ads, and probably never would’ve seen it. So far it’s only given me a few bucks back. I’m gonna try to accumulate 5 -10 bucks and cash it out. Better then nothing!

Walmart Savings Catcher is awesome! Since I would at the Home Office I have been able to use this the past 6 months and have earned about $20. A third party does the price matching and you don’t have to worry about whether or not the associate or a store manager will accept the price match. Also you can get eboxtops for your school through Savings Catcher.

One of the things I really like about Savings Catcher is that because I travel quite a bit and shop outside the Chicago area sometimes, where I’m not familiar with stores and seeing the ads.. it’s doing that extra work for me. I go back and forth between Indianapolis and Chicago at least once per month to visit family. I try to check their sales before my trips but I miss stuff. Savings Catcher is awesome to pick up the slack for local stuff! :)

ALSO I think the exp date on the Laughing Cow Ibotta rebate varies per user. I have 2 phones in my household, when I redeemed one the other day it told me it expired Friday night like you posted. My other phone shows exp of midnight 8/24. My mom’s phone shows exp of midnight 8/25. She unlocked the rebate after me, maybe it depends on when you unlock it.

Thank you for posting this. I submitted mine online and have already gotten $7.62 back on three dinky receipts from this past week.

One thing that is worth pointing out: Savings Catcher will NOT cover BOGOs – if you have those, you will still need to price match at the register.
