So I stopped by CVS today, and miracle of miracles, they had Schick Hydro Silk back in stock! I’ve been carrying around this rain check for a month or so now, and my coupons were about to expire. So…

2 Planters whole cashews, $9.00. Used $1.00/2 in the 11/11 SS.
Dean’s milk, $2.79. Used $1.00/1 from a booklet I picked up at my Jewel grand re-opening a while back.
Nexxus frizz defy shampoo, $9.99.
Nexxus Humectress conditioner, $9.99.
Hydro Silk refill, $17.79. Used $6.00/1 from Facebook (no longer available).
Hydro Silk razor, $12.99. Used free razor wyb a refill printable (no longer available).

Used $4.00/$20.00 beauty items purchase that came in email. Used 25% off regular price items that came in email (took off $11.68). Used $22.50 in ECB. Used a rain check for $10 ECB wyb $25 Schick. Paid $6.60 on my CVS e-gift card from this (sold out) deal. Got back $23 in ECB: $10 for Schick (on rain check), $10 for Nexxus, $2.00 for Planters, and $1.00 for Dean’s. Net cost: $6.10. (But, I’ll also get back $5.00 in beauty club ECB in a couple of days! That, I’ll count when I get it :) ) That was kind of fun — today it was like buying the nuts and getting everything else free!

Then I went down the road to Pete’s, where the only coupons I used were for the Breakstone’s. That’s OK. I figure the CVS coupon madness balances out my cheap produce, right? And this is why the whole “coupons are only for processed foods and things I don’t buy” argument is silly. Do you wash your hair? Drink milk? Shave? Use coupons for those types of things, and then use your savings to buy more whole foods.

ANYway, ignore the LEGOs in the background — it’s the 8th night of Chanukah tonight, and our whole house is overrun with LEGO.

El Milagro flour tortillas, $1.19.
3 Breakstone’s sour cream, $2.97. Used three $.55/1 from the 12/9 SS.
Apple smoked cheddar, $3.50.
Dean’s half & half, $2.69.
Cauliflower, $2.04.
5lb Idaho Potatoes, $1.68.
Mushrooms, $1.48.
Apples, $1.94.
Grape tomatoes, $.98.
2 blackberries, $1.96.
Bananas, $.84.
Pork chops, $4.12.

That came to $24.18. Mr. 5 is quite happy that blackberries were $.98! So for the day, my net cost here was $30.28.
