Novartis Consumer Health (NCH) is voluntarily recalling all lots of select bottle sizes of Excedrin® and NoDoz® products with expiry dates of December 20, 2014 or earlier as well as Bufferin® and Gas-X® Prevention® products with expiry dates of December 20, 2013 or earlier, in the United States.
NCH is taking this action as a precautionary measure, because the products may contain stray tablets, capsules, or caplets from other Novartis products, or contain broken or chipped tablets.
As this is a voluntary recall at the consumer level, Novartis Consumer Health advises consumers who have purchased these recalled products to discontinue use and return them to Novartis Consumer Health for a full refund.
Consumers that have the product(s) being recalled should contact the Novartis Consumer Relationship Center at 1-888-477-2403 (available Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time) for information on how to return the affected products and receive reimbursement.
Consumers also may click here to obtain a form to obtain a refund.
These actions have been communicated to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). We are working closely with the FDA and will continue to do so throughout this process.

Anyone called about this yet? I just tried and got busy signals. I have 4 bottles of different Excederin products. I’m just wondering if I can mail them all together or if I even have to mail the bottles. I remember the children’s tylenol recall and I didn’t have to mail them back just submit the info and dispose of it.
It took me a while to get through, but customer service told me to submit a form for each bottle ( I have 6) and that I can mail them all together. They will send a check for the suggested retail price for each bottle plus $2 per bottle for shipping (even if you mail them all together).
I really hate that I have to send all the stuff back.. but I’m definitely going to. I have a lot in my stockpile.

Has anyone recieved their money back? I sent mine back on Jan 10, and still waiting.
I sent mine about then and just got it last friday. They must have gotten more than they thought. Came as one check for total amount.
For those who recieved their checks were you re-imbursed the $2 per bottle for shipping? I just got my check today (sent it in January) , sent six bottles, but the postage given back was $4.00.
Hi Laura – Thanks for posting, It reminded me that I need to send 3 bottles back. I notice on the recall form that it says, if the amount exceeds $2 they will reimburse you for the actual amount listed on the package, so maybe that is why?
