Children’s Place

  • Tammy has a heads up on their new return policy: “Just to remind everyone of TCP new return policy….. I went to return some things that I ordered on line that didn’t fit my DS and couldn’t because I refused to let them copy my DL. From their website: To make a return or exchange, you will be required to present a valid photo ID*  (see below for the types of ID that we accept) that will be scanned at the time of the return. Information from your ID will be retained in a database of customer return activity that The Children’s Place uses to authorize returns. Information stored in this database will not be used for marketing purposes. *The Children’s Place accepts the following IDs for all returns and exchanges: U.S. or Canadian Driver’s License, U.S. State ID, Canadian Province ID, U.S. Military ID, Passport, U.S. Laser Visa, and Mexican Consulate Card. This is bad policy.  No store in the world needs a copy of my DL or passport on file!!”

CVS

Dollar General

  • One from Lisa: “Dollar General has the Air Wick Aqua Mist refresher on BOGO through 8/16.  Pair this with the BOGO coupon in today’s SmartSource insert for 2 free.”

Dominick’s

Rebates

  • Reassurance from Aprl: “some people had a concern about  getting their money back for Bacardi rebate. I received my $60 rebate yesterday. I mailed it in on July 12. So it was less then a month. I am surprised how quickly it was, because I still didn’t get some of my rebates, I mailed in May.”

Six Flags

  • Michelle verifies that you can get adult tickets for kids price at the Jewel CS desk: “I just picked up 4 tickets, no other purchase, for kids price, no problem.”
  • Jeanne says: “Another tip related to the Six Flags tickets.  Any purchases on-line or at the parks with your Discover Card gets you an automatic 5% discount.   So online you can get the Jewel price and also save 5% when you pay with Discover.  Also, when you get to the security lines at the park there is a special entrance to the park for Discover card holders at Great America all the way on the left hand side.  You just show your Discover card and no waiting in all those lines.  This was a nice surprise yesterday.”

Staples

  • Letsshop has one to share: “Staples small MM $1 off coupon  in todays  SS Scotch tape desk top Plus free after rebate”

Valli

  • From Ruth: “At Valli Produce, there were plenty of new coupon books at the end of each checkout line.  They say “Curves” on the front.  There were several good coupons for some healthy food including some for the Flat Out wraps.”

Walgreens

  • Jen Beedie says: “Rumor is the secret RR is rolling. I found some in hickory hills didn’t try rolling though”

I just emailed The Children’s Place about how I am appalled with their new policy and its invasion of privacy. I told them they have lost 100% of my business, and I recommend others contact them as well!

  2. Joy says:

If you “like” Schick on Facebook you can print a $4 coupon for Schick Intuition Razors or *refills*…new razors…good…refills…bad LOL http://apps.facebook.com/schickintuition/contests/50537/invites/coupon

  3. Suzanne says:

Please tell me what the secret RR is
    at Wals. Thanks

  4. rachel says:

Suzanne — http://www.mashupmom.com/?p=30299 secret deodorant not a secret RR, though that would be cool! :) last one under RR deals.

  5. Lisa says:

Good to know about the Bacardi rebate. Now if only Deigeo would get those smirnoff rebates out to us :(

  6. Shirley says:

24 pack pepsi are $4.99 at Dom. Use an expired (3/24) MQ coupon from Jewel’s ad. Buy 2, save $2 so $3.99 for a 24 pack.

Question (personal opinion type) about CVS. I have a HUGE problem almost every time my ECBs are about to expire, in that I have a very hard time finding stuff to buy. To the point that it is almost not worth “making money” there. Have you experienced that? What are your “go to items” when you are just looking to burn ECBs. This last time I ended up buying a whole bunch of those dollar big rice bowl things (like really big noodle ramens). CVS has such expensive non sale prices.

  8. JaniceT says:

The HP ink promo at Target this week is pretty nice. I was able to get the color combo ink (no black) for my printer for $26 with a $10 gift card back. I used the $10 gift card towards the black ink which was $12. $28 for all the HP cartridges to refill my printer is a good price IMO especially since it was all tax free!

  9. Mary Ann says:

Julie, the trick at CVS is to accumulate rainchecks to use later with expiring ECBs. A raincheck you can use anytime even with expired ECBs, and item limits don’t apply to rainchecks.

I actually prefer getting rainchecks cuz than I can lump items together when I need a higher tape total.

  10. Tammi says:

The return policy of The Childrens Place is shocking! I love their sales but this puts a horrible taste in my mouth. The do not need to collect personal information like that for ANY reason!

  11. Ruth says:

Mary Ann- How do you get a raincheck at CVS?

  12. regis says:

Julie….Does your CVS take expired ECB’s? Mine does, actually both of mine do. Both are in Chicago on, both on Damen Ave.

I don’t even ask anymore when I go in if I can use them….I just go up to the cashier with my purchase and no one has ever batted an eye. They do have to override it and no one has a problem with it. I used to ask before my transaction started if they would accept an expired ECB and and always “yes”. Just no expired manf. Q’s.

The self checkout won’t take the expired’s though. Have to go the regular line. Yes, my CVS has a self checkout….awesome. This is the one on Damen/Irving/Lincoln.

But, if I’m looking to just burn an ECB or two before they expire and nothing to roll them into, I buy ice cream or a couple candy bars. I know we get great stock up deals on ice cream, but that much ice cream in my freezer is way too tempting for me and I will consume way more in a short amount of time than any 1 person should! So I’ll get some there for a treat. Or I’ll buy milk if I need it. Eggs sometimes.

  13. rachel says:

Ruth — On the rainchecks, if they are out of an advertised ECB item, they will write you a raincheck for that price PLUS ECB. So you can still go get it later and get the ECB back. It’s an excellent deal, because then you can use it a later week when there is no demand or to hit the amount for one of the $/$$ coupons they email out.

Julie — Like regis mentioned, my CVS also takes expired ECB (although I do almost always find something to roll them into before they expire). Or, I buy milk, or OJ… or like today, use it to buy clearance items or last minute needs like generic kids benadryl.

  14. Laura says:

Recieved a coupon out of Jewels coupon printer that say save $2.00 off any 2 personal wash items,,includes bar soap, liquid soap, and liquid body wash. Anyone else get one of these,,,,,?

  15. regis says:

Laura—-”I” didn’t get one of these…..there were 3 hanging out of the self checkout machine I used the other day. So now I have 3…..hope something good comes along to use them with!

  16. Laura says:

Anyone try the new scent of Nivea body lotion–touch of happiness…..it’s on sale at Jewel for $5.99. Could use the 3.00 off coupon, making it 2.99………is that still too much?
