Back to school

  • Martha found: “Office Depot has the EXPO Low-Odor Dry-Erase 4-PK for $1/pk this week!”
  • Sonya Ann shares: “I am sending my second child off to college tomorrow. As a matter of fact, we have to pack the van today. I have compiled a list that I posted on my blog about what my kids needed. This isn’t bragging but I didn’t need to shop for anything once we dropped Anna off at school. Most people have to make a few trips. I don’t know if it is alright to include a link but here is the link to the list.”

CVS

  • A tip from rifat for those having trouble loading emailed coupons: “For the CVS problem, go to SD’s site – under ‘CVS Coupon discussion’ (last page). I had a $5/15 coupon, tried it and it worked.”

If you receive baby mobile qs from Target, stack the $1/1 Johnson’s baby item with the $0.75/1 Johnson’s printable. I bought the 9oz bottle of baby powder for 22 cents. Also the Calcium gummies are included in this week $6 Nature Made sale. After $3MFG,15% CW, pay with REDcard = $1.99 a bottle. This is a great price if you know someone who uses them (my mom loves them!) I of course, got her hooked when they were Free after ECB over at CVS :)

Each week at Staples is a new offer. I’ve never seen a rebate extend longer than one week there. Limit is four, and make sure to have them scan the coupon four times (or give them the code to punch in), and all four will be free after rebate.

AWESOME back to college list, Sonya! Thank you, as that is exactly what I was looking for. While I knew a bunch of it, there were plenty on there that I hadn’t thought of, and now I don’t have to make the list, and get the eye roll from my son….I am such a list maker!

Here’s another question on the dorm living…where do they put their wallet or anything else of value so that it is ‘safe’ in their room? I think back, and can’t even recall it being an issue, but I know times have changed.

They make safes that attach to your bedpost. Sounds strange but it’s really helpful. Some are even big enough to store a laptop. Here’s one example I found at Target awhile back: http://instagram.com/p/lxnwcCsicM/
They make smaller ones too just for wallets, credit cards, etc. that are cheaper.

Sue, thank you for the compliment. I would have answered you but I was off dropping off our last kid. I’m tired, sad, and grateful all a the same time.
Some of the schools have drawers on the desks that you can slip a lock on. When we looked at one of the sample rooms at my sons college, it had a drawer you could lock. When we moved him in-nothing. I would call the school and ask about it. We also found out when we dropped him off that the back of the desks have bulletin boards and the rooms have garbage cans. Each school is different. Happy shopping!
And Rachel-Thank you for thinking that anything that I wrote was important enough to post about. I feel loved! ;p

I’ve had great luck at eyebuydirect.com for cheap glasses — for me and kids. You need to have your prescription already (America’s Best? is cheap) and know what size frames you’re looking for. So a little tricky, but after 30+ years of wearing glasses, I kinda know what I’m looking for and was able to figure it out for the kids by trying on frames elsewhere and writing down what sizes/shapes to look for online. Would strongly suggest for a 2nd back up pair for kids, at least. Frames start at like $6.95. I think I got mine and one boy’s here for less than $35 shipped together!
