And hey — thanks for picking up some of the slack, guys! There are a few things I should have noticed in the grocery ads and didn’t, due to the serious sleep deficit going on right now. (I’ll be glad when Mr. 3 is out of this nightmare stage…) But, you all are right on it.
Coupons
- Matt said he got an email from Dollar General with $1.00/1 Lysol, Airwick, and Finish. So I looked em up, and here ya go: $1.00/1 any Lysol product here, and $1.00/1 Air Wick here, and $1.00/1 Finish here. Lysol products are 50% off at Jewel this week, so maybe a good deal to be found.
CVS
- Hit that price scanner at CVS, because people are getting great coupons this week. Missy says: “CVS gave me a $2 off any Huggies supreme. Combine this with the $2 coupon from 4/18, you can get diapers for 2.50. I also got a Pampers Dry-Max coupon for $4…but with all the debate wont try them even if they are cheap!”
Dominick’s
- From Sheryl: “My Dominicks (Frankfort) had a bunch of 18 count OB tampons on clearance for $2 – pair with the $1 coupon (3/28 RP or 4/25 SS) for $1 each Also, Hefty storage bags 17 ct gallon, 13 ct gallon freezer and 22 ct quart storage are $1.25 when bought in multiples of 4. Pair with the $1/2 coupon (1/31 RP) for $.75 storage bags”
- On the buy four, save $4.00 cereal deal, Val says: “There are also expired Q’s from the 3/18 Jewel Ad for $1/2 Life and Cap’n Crunch.”
- Janpritts found: “There are expired Jewel (3/11 ad) mq’s for Breyer’s ice cream $1/2.”
Freebies
- Erin messaged me on Facebook about these free child safety tattoos. Probably a good idea if you have a runner like I do…
- Someone who wants no credit emailed that you can request a sample kit of some GM products here. Note: The site is in Spanish, but you should be able to kludge your way through. Under “clave,” that means “password,” so you’re picking a pw to sign up on their site.
Jewel
- On the Post cereal deal, Kim noticed that the $2.00/1 coupon is still available when you sign up for their newsletter. It doesn’t look like it reset, because it didn’t let me print again, but if this is new to you, grab it! Here again is the deal — although the ad doesn’t list all the kinds that are on sale, so check in store. Buy Post cereal 10 oz. or larger between 4/23/10 and 5/16/10. Buy 4 and get $3.00 OYNO, buy five or more and get $4.00 OYNO. It’s $1.49 this week, and print $1.00/2 on Target.com. So, you could buy four for $5.96. Use two $1.00/2 printables = $3.96 with $3.00 back. Or, use two $2.00/1 (again, if the right kinds are on sale) and one $1.00/2, pay $.96, and get $3.00 back for a nice little money maker.
- On the cheap liquor, Jamie notes there’s a $5.00/2 Smirnoff in the 5/2 RP. GMoney suggests: “Use 3 of the $5 off 2 smirnoff/Captain etc get 10%off + $15 off = 5.50/bottle and yes I will be hosting a party….” Janpritts verifies it’s purchase 6 bottles get 10% off.
- Mary offers up some spreadsheets to use for the GM Catalina and other Jewel Catalina deals to help you figure out if you’re hitting the right $ amount.
Meijer
- From Christy: “Meijer has a promotion from 5/13 – 5/19. Purchase $15 in any combination of Coca-cola products and Meijer brand potation chips in the same transaction and get a Meijer coupon for 2 FREE passes to the Shedd Aquarium (a $49 value!). Passes valid 5/1 thru 6/15 or 9/7 thru 10/15/2010. Limit 1 offer per transaction. I’m going to do this one!”
- Sumi says the 100 calorie packs went back up to $3.59.
Michael’s Fresh Market
- Sumi emailed: “fresh market is having a 10cents sale. Onions,Tomato, kiwi, orange,Indian eggplant,Michigan apple,Potato(I am not sure about potato) are all 10 cents.Chicken quarters 50cents/pound,eggs 2doz/$1.00.Many more good deals this week.” I think these are only in Naperville and Downers Grove — anyone?
Rebates
- Heads up from GMoney: “an FYI if you are planning on doing the rebate for the “try me free” Purdue Shortcuts, while the coupon is good till 6/7 the rebate is only good till 5/31 (tricky aren’t they?)…..”
Target
- Heads up from Belinda, if you’re in the area: “The Target store in Countryside/Hodgkins just underwent renovations and has some things on markdown as a remodeling deal – including Finish, Cascade and Pepsi for only 2.75 a 12 pack.”
- Shirley says: “Beware if you are buying the Windex Outdoor Starter Kit. There are two different prices for them. One is $12.99 and the other is $13.79. They both are Windex Outdoor Starter Kit. I got the cheaper one and it comes with 2 cleaning pads while the more expensive one only comes with 1 cleaning pad. I also used a $5 GC coupon but the system doesn’t recognize it so the cashier had to manually take $5 off my purchase.”
Ultra
- Nicko found: “DiGiorno Pizza is 2 for $10 and the ad has Pizza and Breadsticks, so if you got in on the Facebook $3 off DiGiorno Pizza with Breadsticks then you can get the pizza for $2 and that is a great deal. BTW the coupon is still available on facebook.” Here’s the link to the Facebook coupon — and this is the cheapest I’ve seen this!
- Not sure if this sale changed with the new ad today, but Felicia went yesterday and found Hefty One Zip bags for $1.00, so $.50 each after the $1.00/2 on Coupons.com.
Valli
- Matt says “Pringles for $.88 a Super Stack and an 8 pack of Bounty Paper towels for $5.88 (was on sale for $6.99 at Jewel a couple weeks back). Save $.50 on the Pringles or Bounty with the Make It Take It Easy Coupons.”

The ones on sale were quart and gallon Hefty Zip bags. I think that sale ended yesterday, but there may be other deals available with the coupon since it wasn’t specific to one size. The sandwich bags are a little less than $1.50, so you could get those for less than $2 for two bags.
Meijer has a deal with 2 Ritz crackers for $4. Use that Make It Take It Easy coupon and you get 2 boxes for $3.
I just walked in the door from the St. Charles Meijer and the Nabisco 100 Calorie packs are back down to $2. I bought 3 boxes and and I got both catalinas, a mfg for $2 oyno and a $3 store onyo. I rolled the $2 mfg cat and bought 3 more boxes. The $3 Meijer cat is only working until Saturday though.
Matteson dominick’s had individual bottle and cans of beer on clearence. Bottles of corona lite were 30 cents, cans of coors lite 25cents, wine coolers 25cents. Seemed like a pretty good deal to me!!
Some other deals I found at Meijer: Bimbo bread is on sale for $1.49 per loaf, There are mealbox coupons for $.50 off any Bimbo bread making it $.99. This included the whole grain white. Barilla pasta is on sale for $.89. There is a MM coupon for $1/4 making it $.64 per box. Also the Thomas’ bagel thins are on price drop to $2.69. I used a mfg coupon for $.55 and a MM coupon for $.50 to bring them down to $1.64. Not the greatest deals, but some good ones.
Heads up Bought 2Fruity Pebbles and 2 Coccoa Pebbles from Jewel this morning and got nothing.. I know the Cat Machine worked cause I got my Kelloggs Catalina.. Thought I would just give you a bit of warning… Thanks and Have a Great Rainy day!
Jewel had a $5.00 off Effen Vodka on the bottle and it’s on sale for $22.99….$17.99 for Effen is a great deal!
Dominicks in Fox Lake had Cover Girl podwer compacts for $2.94 plus 50% off, use coupons form 4/11 rp or 5/2 PG for free face powder. They had quite a few in the back of the store and bunch of different colors.

Dominicks has fiber one bars and nature valley nut clusters $1.50 ea when you buy 4 $1 coupon in( expired) spring savings book brings them down to $.50 each. !!!
I dont know if Pete’s Fresh Market is related to the other Fresh Markets. I don’t see any .10 deals in the Pete’s ad. I will watch for it in the future though.
