Amazon

  • A recommendation from pt:  “Holycow! Finished into the darkest corner recently and LOVED it! Highly recommend if you like a scary thriller! Sooo worth the two bucks!”

Arby’s

Coupons

  • A product recommendation for the $.35/1 printable from gina:  “I love Aunt Millie’s! They have the best honey hotdog and hamburger buns ever! If you haven’t tried their Italian bread, you must get out out there and buy some. You won’t be sorry. I can’t keep it in the house, the kids eat it up.”

J.C. Penney

  • Mary reports:  “I went to Louis Joliet Mall JCP last night with the $5 off $5 coupon. The store is being “remodelled” and is in appalling shape. Downstairs not too bad…upstairs is half empty! Looks like they are going out of business! Housewares is 3/4′s gone. Really made me sad…JCP used to be my go to store…don’t think it’s going to be around much longer! Was planning on using coupon for baby or kids’ clothes for grandkids and was not pleased with selection or quality. Their products all seem like seconds since they started the new pricing system. Ended up using my coupon on clearance ribbon, .50 each.”
  • But Francesca on Facebook suggests:  “Check your email for another JC Penny coupon. $10 off of $25. I knew they would survive long without bringing back coupons . I hope they keep em coming”

Jewel

  • Another use for the $.35/1 printable from grandma:  “and Aunt Millie’s showed up at Jewel this week! LOVE their products!”

Loyalty programs

  • Joy shares:  “10 free MCR points with the code 10099144423516″

Menards

  • Jane says:  “The only kind of Prego Menards in Bradley had was mushroom. I actually wanted that kind! I picked up 2 and used a 75 cents off 2 coupon too.”
  • A find from Francesca on Facebook:  “Glad Forceflex 130 ct for $14.97 @ menards . Great price! I see these at the grocery store for $8 for 35 bags”
  • Janie on Prego:  “my Menards was out, went to Walmart and pricematched, the Tribune did have .75/2, my local paper, which was the only one I had seen when I posted, had .50/2–guess which one I used:)”

Resale

  • Christa sends over information for a Kids’ Closet event:  “Hallmark Sports Club in Heritage Plaza (near Rt 45)

    Sat, April 13 *1/2 PRICE DAY* 9 am - 2 pm”"

Projection clocks

  • Virginia shares:  “I have the homedics projector clock. It does not display it large enough on the ceiling for us to be able to read it without our glasses or contacts. Great idea, but impractical for the middle of the night.”

Ultra Foods

  • From ashley:  “Ultra in wheaton says they will not have any more Nissin noodles in for a while but are allowing special orders :)

Also went to the joliet Jc penny. Thought the same thing but some good clearance deals.

  4. Rachel says:

Also went to the JCP at Louis Joliet Mall to use my $5 off 5 or more and $10 off 25 or more and was very very disappointed. Really does look like they are going out of business. Especially the furniture department, only a few items left and everything is on clearance. There was such a small section of clothes in my sons size. I ended up buying him a spring windbreaker for 12 and got the $5 off.

  5. jeanine says:

I went to JCP also, when I looked around there was lots of empty space, the walls had hooks where there used to be decorations and signs and the clothing was thin and cheap looking to me. I was very disappointed and can’t see myself shopping there.

  6. JenniF says:

The Jc penney in Algonquin looks the same way. I wonder if they are going back to the old look!

  7. Kris says:

Check your Dominick’s JFU. I had Weber BBQ sauce for 99 cents. I was able to get a bottle with $1 hang tag making it FREE.

  8. Meg says:

My Jewel has tear-pads to save $3 on any meat purchase (of at least $3.01) when you buy a 12 pack Guinness family beers (includes Harp and Smithwick’s). There is a separate tear-pad for a $10 MIR when you buy two 12-packs. The 12-packs are on sale for $11.47, making it $22.94 out of pocket or $12.94 net for the two 12-packs of beer plus a pack of meat. Not too shabby for beer that will run you at least $4 for a pint at your local pub.
