Born shoes

  • On the 6pm sale, Sarah comments:  “I love my Born shoes, too! I have several close-toed pairs that I wear to work. Mine were purchased at DSW. Often, they are available there in the clearance section in the neighborhood of $35 to $45, less if I have a coupon.”

Carson’s

  • Anita sends over:  “Carson’s has yellow dot and black dot…. 60% off or 70% plus there is an added coupon for another 20% that they will use at register if ask.” For the items pictured, she spent $40 and saved $119!

Dominick’s

  • From Claribel:  “At Dominick’s, I have personalized price for Mio $1.99. I bought 3 of the regular flavors and one energy flavor to satisfy ibotta requirement. Used 4 $1/1 insert qs to bring them down to $.99 ea. After checkout, a surprise $3 OYNO compliments of Mio! So, after $1 back from Ibotta, 4 FREE Mio! : )”
  • Hortencia shares:  “At Dominick’s I was able to get two bags of Popchips Katy’s Kettle Corn for 71 cents. Online I had a one-time price of $1.50 and a B1G1 too. Somehow Dominick’s calc came out to 71 cents for both. It credited me $2.79 for the free one. Reg Price 5.58 Card Savings -1.58 J4U Store eCpn -.50 J4U Mfr eCpn -2.79″

Meijer

  • Kari O. found:  “At Meijer in McHenry their Medicated Nivea lip balms are on clearance for $1.81 and if you buy $10 worth you get a $3 catalina. Today I bought six for $10.86, used three $3/2 coupons, paid $1.86 and received $3 OYNO. The regular kinds of lip balm are on price cut for $1.99 too. Still a great deal but not a big MM.” Coupon is in the 2/10 RP.

Target

  • Something to check for and a deal idea from Jan:  “Did anyone else get the ($12) coupon for Jockey mens briefs & undershirts in their TARGET statement that came in the mail this month? Buy one 2-pack of Jockey undershirts (price is $12) get a free 2-pack of mens Jockey boxer/briefs (priced at $12). So, I got 2 Jockey undershirts and 2 Jockey breifs for a total of $12 ( $4 each). I went to Target in Naperville. My husband wanted white V-neck undershirts in size large. They only had black in his size. I bought the black and will exchange it for white when they get more in stock.”
  • From Suzanne on Facebook:  “Luvs clearance at target $5.94-$15.28″
  • Helen says:  “Sobe has 20% back on endorseI have 20%, but it isn’t good on Lifewater, but we all get different deals, so check yours!

Vacuums

  • Ginger asks:  “Hi all, My vacuum broke after 15 years and now I’m on the hunt for a new one but All I can find are these bagless with filters which I have never owned and I have been reading reviews and asking people about their vacuums, does anyone out there have anything good to say about a certain kind or even something bad that I should know. Any help would be great. Thanks All”
  • Kari O. says:  “Dyson’s are awesome but will void most warranty’s on carpet. So, if you have a warranty read it carefully.”
  • Sandy S likes them as well:  “Absolutely love my Dyson! I bought the mid-range priced one, I think I paid $300 for it on sale at Kohl’s.”
  • Sabrina too:  “I too love my Dyson. I’ve not heard about it voiding a carpet warranty? What’s that all about?? Anyway, I’ve had my Dyson going on 8 years. The Animal. Last year one of my friends signed me up for an in-home Kirby vacuum sales pitch where the rep comes in and demonstrates the $2,000 vacuum. He was impressed by how clean my floors were, he could barely pull up any dust/debris from my floors and ended up leaving dejected because he couldn’t show me how “superior” his product was since the Dyson did such a great job.”
  • Kari O. follows up:  “My father in law is a carpet inspector. One of the requirements when he inspects damaged carpets is to see your vacuum. If it’s a Dyson you’re s.o.l. cause they’re so good and so powerful, they actually damage your carpets fibers and pull them out, etc. I’ve actually seen photos of cheap carpet that a Dyson has shredded. So, just read your warranty!”

I have a hoover wind tunnel , easy to clean out , works great on carpet.I use it a lot with two small kids and dogs. You can find it at Kohls wiyh great deals.

I used this on clearance pork at Dominick’s today.

  3. Charlotte says:

On the vacuum issue: I have an Eureka one, bagless and loathe it. I have also in the past owned a Dyson bagless, and loathed it too. I grew up with the canister vacuums in Europe, and prefer those to bagless. Bagless vacuum cleaners are not recommended if you have allergies, as they are hard to keep clean. Personally, when I get to buy a new vacuum cleaner, I’m getting a Miele. :)

I have the Dyson Animal and LOVE IT! With 3 dogs it works wonders. I didn’t when I had carpet, I didn’t have problem with it ‘pulling’ out fibers, but then I didn’t have ‘cheap’ carpet. It is very easy to take apart and dislodge any items that may have gotten stuck. Hard to believe but my family would rather vacuum up pens than pick them up! LOL I bought mine as an open box at Best Buy and it was 20% off. If you don’t mind used check out shopgoodwill.com as I have seen them sell for a fraction of the retail price. There is a filter that you should rinse out per the manufacturer directions. Easy to empty the canister and comes with great attachments. The one drawback is that it is heavy so if you have 2 story you will build arm muscles.

Kroger-In Bradley- on the clearance tables in the front of the store they had Nice & Easy hair color marked down to $1.25(only 3 left at 6:30 pm Sun). If you use the $2.00/1 in the 1-27 PG it turns out to be a .75 MM.

    • Marjie says:

I must have been there right after you. I bought the last 3 about 7 pm.

      • Lisa says:

I was hoping you would see the post Marjie as I figured you too were a regular shopper. Isn’t it ironic you were going there prepared anyway? Love those MMers:) If you have any glade .50/1 candle coupons left they have one lavender one left in the regular section (aisle)for $1, so free. Not worth a dedicated stop but if your in there anyway, what the heck.

        • Marjie says:

I do most of my shopping at Kroger. I went yesterday to use my raincheck for the reach floss since it was the last day for the catalina and I also did the Ore-Ida potato deal. I always check the clearance table. You never know what might be there.

          • Lisa says:

How weird. I went in for the floss as well. I too got a rain check and it was the mid night hour so I figured it was now or never:) My only regret was that I did not have them write up 2 rain checks with an assortment of stuff they were out of on each rain check. I could have gotten back 2 cats that way and the Hungry Jack Hash Brown Potatoes they were out of for free as well. Live and learn. Glad you got the hair color. I had used my coupons B4 on a different deal so I could not take advantage of it but felt compelled to let others know.

            • Marjie says:

I only got one raincheck for the 8 floss and 4 hungry jack potatoes. I broke it up into two transaction. I have never had a cashier tell me that I couldn’t do that and the cashier supervisor was standing right there. I always just say “would it be okay it I broke the items on my raincheck up into two transaction?” The reply has always been yes. I don’t use hair color but it is a great donation item so I always pick them up when I can get them for free.

  6. Daria says:

I have a bagless, Eureka one too (its like a 10-12 lb, lightweight) and LOVE it….it works great and is light which I think is a huge plus for me. I have 2 kids and a German Shepherd in the house. Until those Dysons come down in price, Im am more than happy with it. (I got it as an apartment warming gift years ago, came from Target)

  7. Monika says:

The Sears Apparel Outlet has Orecks, Kenmore and Eurekas at 75-90%off. This is the store in Woodstock. RT 14 & Rt 47. I bought the Eureka bagless in yellow for $49.95 I purchased the extended warranty for $9.95. Huge savings. I love it to clean after my newfoundland dog.

  8. Cindy H. says:

Regarding vacuums – I also have a Miele (the Cat and Dog) and it is wonderful! It has a bag but it’s self-sealing so the dust/junk can’t come out! My MIL has a Miele canister and loves it. And my sister just bought the Miele Twist, and also loves it.

  9. kari says:

Re: vacuums…I just bought this Electrolux a few weeks ago and after vacuuming my house many times since delivery – I LOVE it! Highly recommend! They were originally $229, but Walmart keeps dropping the price! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Electrolux-Versatility-Cyclonic-Bagless-Upright-Vacuum-with-Bonus-Hand-Vacuum-EL8501AZ/21150274
    good luck!

  10. Jill says:

I love my Eureka Boss upright bagless. Really great for the price and I’ve had it for years. With 4 dogs and 3 kids it has handled everything I’ve needed it to do.

  11. Nikki says:

My Popchips at Dom’s came out to 2 for $0.51!
