Allergen free

  • Another source for Enjoy Life baking chips, from Hopie: “They are always $2.99 at the Health Food Store in Winfield. Love them!”
  • And peaches adds: “She is probably talking about Nutrition Network. Here is their facebook page.

Amazon

BP

  • A warning from Geoff: “I buy BP gas since it is convenient. When I saw the offer of a loyalty discount 5 cents per gallon, I thought great, sign me up. Then I realized the small print. The 5 cent discount will only be on every third visit and only if the other two visit had a sum total of at least 20 gallons. Since I don’t make it a practice of stopping for gas for fun I only stop to fill up, and alway excess of 20 gallons per visit. Therefore the 5 cents per gallon really works out to be 1.67 cents per gallon. It isn’t worth the trouble, do what I am doing looking for cheaper gas stations to “punish” BP for such a scam.”

Coupons

  • On the $5.00/2 Slimfast, April was wondering: “is it only one coupon per computer print limit? I could not print the second set”
  • Judy S. has a tip: “I printed 2 but I had to reload a couple of times. Don’t know what was going on.”

Dinnerware

  • From Helen: “Regarding dinnerware made in America. CORELLE is made in the USA. I like the fact that it is light weight, microwaveable, dishwasher safe and almost unbreakable. The price is right and, I have had my set for years. Check out the new patterns and square plates. So many people out of work right now. More and more consumers are checking labels.” Check here and here for some great deals on Corelle!
  • D.W. Hammond’s experience: “I got my Corelle in 1971 and it’s indestructible! My grandfather worked for the manufacturer in US and gave it as wedding present. Yes, I chipped one plate and one shattered, but the rest are still here, and when I move, I put it all in a box, NO PACKING. The best thing is how little space these dishes take in the cupboard, or boxes.”

Kmart

  • Julie posts on Facebook: “KMart in Montgomery is closiing the designated date of closing is March 16th.”

Meijer

  • From DON: “I thought I ran across a price on the 20 [Finish] Gel packs at Meijer being $3.49 making this $1.34 after coupon” The $2.15/1 is in the 1/5 SS.

Online deals

  • Don on Facebook found: “H & M has select bras and select sizes on sale right now for $5 each and use code 1341 for free shipping – selling out quick!!!”
  • A head’s up from Megan on the Carson’s sale: “Doesn’t Costco normally sell the magic bullet for like $49.00? That doesn’t seem like a great deal.”

Target

  • Shandelle shares: “The Target at Broadway and Sunnyside has all varieties of El Monterey single burritos on clearance for $.86 each. If you use the $1/2 printable from coupons.com then you can score $.36 burritos.”
  • And Chris on Facebook reports: “90% off Christmas (70% off food) at Crystal Lake Target. They had one aisle with some random items.”

Taxes

  • Jen C’s approach: “I’ve used the state website for the last 3 years to e-file for free. I purchase H&R block for Federal and let it calculate my state refund. Then I copy the numbers over into the state website.”
  • Charlotte says: “We use Turbo Tax, and just like with H&R Block you can import the information from previous years, making it a relative quick affair every year.”
  • Anne found: “Amazon currently has Turbo Tax Deluxe for just $39.99 for Prime Members – $10 savings over without.”

Walgreens

  • Something to check for from Jean: “In my Sunday Tribune there was a Grand Opening cover on the Walgreen’s insert with a $3 off $10 purchase coupon only good at 2817 N Clark in Chicago; 635 Chicago Ave. in Evanston and 28895 W. IL Rt. 120 in Lakemoor. Offer good 1/5 thru 1/18/14.”

If anyone was looking for a kids karaoke machine I found 2 different hello kitty ones at Target being clearance out. I have had my eye on these but at $99.99 for the less expensive one I was waiting for a deal. (The other was about $120). You can use Cd or Mp3 you can record and hook it up to your TV so they can see the words and themselves (it has a camera). The more expensive one was only 30% off. But the$99.99 was 50% off! I bought 2 since I had promised my niece one and this will give them something to do indoors.

I thought I posted this but now I’m not seeing it. Menards (Plainfield) has the lloyd’s barbeque on unadvertised special for 1.99. If you double dip the 11% rebate by buying a gift card first and then using it to pay……it’s roughly $1.51 and if you’re like me and if you can print more or haven’t used the $1 off coupons available…….just 51 cents.

They had at least a 1/2 a freezer of each type (beef and pork) left and the sign said the unadvertised deal ran the February 28th (or probably until they run out!).

Also, the cashier told me you can no longer purchase gift cards with mail in rebate checks. She said it’s a new policy change. Thinking it may have something to do with the 11% including gift cards (so you can’t roll your gift checks to gift cards just to get the rebate?).
