Here are some of the deals (and heads up!) YOU found recently — Thanks! How do you share your own deal?

Big favor: If you mention other sites, online coupons, etc, please include the link. Disclaimer: All of the deals below come straight from readers.

CVS

  • Krystle says:  “Aveeno deal Limit more than 1!?! Check the bottom of your receipts come up as Curel deal mine shows 2 bought, 2 more till next reward! Yay!” And she follows up:  “Limit 6 on Aveeno deal… Buy 12 aveeno lotion or creams = $59.88 – $18 mfgs (10/28SS exp 12/31) minus $36ECB = $5.88 PLUS you earn $5 Beauty Club ECB so after everything = $.88 for 12 full size bottles of lotion, normally $9.99-$13.99! YAY!” Unfortunately the coupons all say limit one :( .
  • Sandra comments:  “For the wine sale/rebate my dh also found the Lindeman’s on sale 2/$9 the same price as the Beringer’s California. The Lindeman’s are regularly $8 something. The rebate in my CVS ad also includes the Lindeman’s so we mix/matched 12 bottles of Beringer’s and Lindeman’s and will send away for the $27 rebate.”
  • Kim says:  “Just got back from CVS and realized the Pantene Classic Conditioner rang up as $2.49. So that’s even better with the 3/2 coupon,1 dollar Pantene!

Dominick’s

  • Diane found:  “On Dominicks’s $2.22 ice cream, there is a cpn for free smuckers ice cream topping when you buy Breyer’s (from Shopper’s Apprentice website) Go here to print Some folks have found that personalized price.

Facebook

  • A suggestion from anna:  “why don’t you just use a facebook account that isn’t linked to all your friends? I have one set up for my dog that I use for coupons. His “friends” don’t care what I post! ;)Personally, I wouldn’t want to have to log in and out, but it is good to have options!

Jewel

  • Some finds from SoapboxTray:  “Wauconda Jewel had Planters Nut-rition PB varieties at $1.49 as well with the $1. peelies on them. I bought 12 and left some on the shelf still with peelies and happy I did. The lady in line behind me asked if they were on sale when she saw how many I had… I told her the scoop and she promptly hopped out of line to grab some. Also Miracle Whip (32 oz) regular flavor is on on special for 99¢ it says (this store only) so guessing just that store but worth a look if you like it. I bought 2 and used 2 50¢ off from the 12/9 SS and paid 49¢ each.”

Meijer

  • Diane confirms:  “I used $5/$75 Mperks cpn today – I used self checkout & put in Mperks before scanning my coupons & it came off – no problems, my post cpn. total was only $32″
  • Charlotte reports:  “On the Meijer jeans recall, I fought tooth and nail, but I got $12 / jean as a store credit. The other option was to get $8/jean as cash. I find this absurd, to be honest. If it is THEIR recall because of THEIR shoddy lack of inspection at their Chinese factories, why should the consumer be punished? Yes, I have no receipt, because I did not expect to return my kids jeans, but have them wear them. Should be noted that 4 pairs still had their tags on, since I was buying them as size up jeans for the kids. This was at the Meijer at Boughton (by the expressway) in Bolingbrook.”

Reader requests

  • Becky asks: “Does anyone know of a good diaper deal going on?”
  • Betty wonders:  “Since someone brought up an Ibotta question, maybe someone can help me with a question. I’ve been working with the Ibotta support people and still have not been to resolve an issue regarding posting offers to facebook. I have an iphone 4s. It appears to me that all of my settings are where they should be. At least so far, everything they have told me to turn on was already “on”. Has anyone else had problems with this?”

Target

  • A report from jen l on the Coffee-Mate:  “Wheaton Target still had alot of creamers left-2 coffin freezers full…they were at 30% off…pretty much every holiday flavor was left.”
  • On post-redeeming coupons, Becky warns:  “Unless something has changed NOT all Target stores will do so…Mchenry IL target has been terrible about this in the past as well as C. Lake…try at your own discretion as I’ve had many tell me I have to have the q’s during the sale!”
  • Annette got pizza and frozen treats:  “I got the three pizzas…the Edys fruit bar and Edys ice cream (4.00 off when you buy three pizzas..coupon expires tomorrow…got it at jewel on the freezer door) all for $7.81 with tax….the free pizza coupon came off for $7.01.”

Ultra Foods

  • A find from melissa:  “Ultra has christmas m&m’s on clearance for .99cents. After the $1/2 mars holiday products from the 11/11RP and 12/2RP (Exp. 12/25/12) that’s only .49cents for about 8oz of happiness.”

Working from home

  • A lead from Charlotte:  “For those looking to earn some extra cash, Best Buy is hiring for Work at Home positions.  My friend is hired through them and she seems to enjoy her job. I mean, how bad can it be, working in your pyjamas? :D

My cat has a Facebook page that I use exclusively for coupons and freebies. So far, we’ve had no snarky comments from her friends, although we HAVE attracted a ton of spam.

  2. Kim C says:

Watch the expiration dates on those Planters Nutrition peanut butters. The only ones at my store in Aurora expire on Jan 7th.

  3. Kim says:

Target on Howard has gone to) seventy % off and they have elf on the shelf in the book section. On an end caobfacing the main aisle. They rang up for $*.(*. Grabbed a girl and a boy and there were still plenty left!

  4. Becky says:

I want to know what Diane bought at meijer…if she is willing to share that is! :)

  5. kristin says:

Isn’t the recall on the jeans just that the button comes off? Why the rush to return them if you got a good deal?

    • charlotte says:

In my case because I have a 1 yr and a 3 yr old who still put stuff in their mouths. I’ve already had an overnight hospital stay with my 3 yr old because he swallowed a penny… Not taking any chances.

  6. John Wilson says:

I have a fake facebook page for contests and coupons. You never need to log on and off if you use one browser (say IE) for one identity and then a different browser (Chrome or Firefox) for your fake identity.

    • Turken says:

      One more facebook tip —

while using different browsers for different identities is ideal, if you DO need to log in to facebook using a specific browser (e.g. so the coupon software will work properly), instead of logging out of your primary account just start a new browser window in “private” mode. Using private mode, you can have multiple log-ins at the same time, and most of the tracking cookies and other detritus will be automatically cleared out as soon as the window is closed.

On the wine rebate… I went to binnys and bought a case of chateau st. Jean chardonnay…. Normally $12.99/bottle, on sale for 7.99, got a case discount for buying 12, brought each bottle to $6.59, after rebate they will be $4.34 each – 75% off!!!

  8. Kim says:

If everyone is looking for cheap (good) wine, Whole Foods carries a brand (just around the holidays) called Three Wishes. The Chardonnay and the Cab Sauv are excellent and they sell it for $2.97 per bottle. My husband and I buy it by the case since a case is only around $32.00. Cheap wine all year long that way! Seriously very very good, never had such amazing $2 buck chuck. :) Go grab a bottle of all the varieities and make sure you like it first, but I bet you will!!!

  9. Krystle says:

OOPS! Didn’t realize the aveeno coupon said limit 1 per. My cashier didn’t say anything guess I got lucky for once. I do try to follow the rules. Also IF done six times with a green bag tag earn $1 to make the deal even better!

  10. michele says:

Check the expiration dates on the PB Nutrition purchased at Jewel. All of the ones at my Jewel expired by next week.

    • SoapboxTray says:

PB Nutrition: Expiration dates were not too far out. 2 were end of January and the rest end of Feb. I go through PB in smoothies like crazy and don’t mind going past a little on the exp. when it is for myself but yes… good to look out for.

  11. Nancy says:

At my CVS, they only “count” one scan of your bag tag per day. Net result: it takes four days to earn $1 from it.

  12. Krystle says:

If you have multiple Cvs stores in your area you can earn up to 4 per day, 1 scan per store. HTH

    • trish says:

This is true right now. For the longest time here it was one per day regardless of different stores while other areas could get more than one. A month or two ago I noticed that it was giving me credit for different store scans in the same day. So technically Charlotte is correct, but it is currently working the way Krystle described. But it could change at any moment and may not be the case in every location.

    • trish says:

Actually I revise what I just said. I went to four stores today, scanned every time, and got credit twice. I really think ymmv based on where you are geographically.

  13. Betty says:

Rachel, thanks for posting my problem. I ended up going to the phone store where I bought my phone. One of the employees rebooted my phone by holding down the on/off button at the top and the round “home” button at the bottom at the same time. I tried out the ibotta ap at the store and was able to use it and post to facebook! After I go home I redeemed an item successfully but unfortunately when I tried to post to facebook again it wouldn’t work… darn Rebooted it myself with no luck. Might have to pop into the apple store to find out what’s wrong…
