Reader deals 12/29/13

Here are some of the deals (and heads up!) YOU found recently — Thanks! How do you share your own deal?

Big favor: If you mention other sites, online coupons, etc, please include the link. Disclaimer: All of the deals below come straight from readers.

  • A question from Jamie: “Anyone know about the nuts? All cvs brand is supposed to be but 2 get the 3rd free and the nuts are BOGO free so would that be pay for one and get two free?”

  • From feelgood: “For those with an open and fully functioning Dominick’s nearby (yes, there are still some around!), the 12/26 – 1/1 weekly ad shows Fresh Express Salad Kits 2/$6. Use $2/1 MQ’s from Tony Tantillo’s December magazine to make them $1 each. I got six FE Salad Kits at my local Dominick’s this morning with excellent use-by Jan 8 dates”

Home Decorators

  • Another thing to factor in to the 25% off plus free shipping, from grandma g: “Also, if you have $100 or more in your cart, they automatically take off $20. Makes for a really good deal if you find stuff you like.”

  • Debb comments: “Nineteenth Century Club is collecting Rachel Ray stamps for local charity, Sarah’s Inn which serves battered women. So if you have stamps you won’t use, get them to 178 Forest, Oak Park, Il 60301 ASAP as we have until Jan6 to redeem. Mail them, stick them in envelope through our mails lot, drop off at office. Thanks!”

  • Outlander says: “I recommend those sheets too. I bought 2 sets last year and have to wash them just about every day and they are still great. No pilling at all. I bought 2 more sets this year. I picked solid colors though.”
  • Becky agrees: “I also highly recommend these sheets. I bought cute little doggie ones and she loves them and keep her nice and warm!”

  • Kristy says: “Yes. I didn’t think to ask at the customer service desk for a calendar, but I did buy a newspaper. Menard’s always sells the early edition Sunday for $1.”
  • DON says: “I just purchased several at Plainfield Menards for $1 each had the calendar – they had plenty papers”

  • Lynn reports: “Target in Highland Park had holiday decor 70% off and food 50% off this morning.”

  • Jane says: “I found some tiny eyeshadows that were priced $4.99 and ended up doing the Jacks pizza deal along with the Almay one and both the manuf. cp. AND the store cp. came off and I believe I got some overage on the pizzas! I have never gotten a penny of overage from Walgreens in my life and normally it is a chore to get the cashier to manually adjust them down. Also, the Jacks $1 RR was not printing. I did 2 separate transactions for a total of 4 Jacks, so the mgr. ended up giving me a Wags gift card to make up for the RR not printing. That was nice. I was in the store a long time however!”
  • And Laura adds: “I never got the $1 RR. I only received the $2. I tried once using points and the printable coupons. The 2nd time I only used the printable coupon and cash. Guess it didn’t over lap in Alsip.”

Whole Foods

  • Laura shares: “I shop at the Whole Foods in Schaumburg (by Woodfield Mall). I’ve never had a bad situation using coupons there. They seem to be coupon friendly.”
  • And nice2save found: “The Imagine soups are $3.00 each at my Whole Foods. Not free but $1.00 for organic soup is still a good price!”

  • Jennifer in Hot Deals shares: “I think Zulilly is especially slow because they wait for their week-long promo on specific brands to be over, then they order the product to ship to their warehouse and THEN ship to you.”
  • TaShena’s experience: “I order from them often. They are always slow, but I have gotten good deals for my girls. I got great, heavy, quality pea coats for $25 with matching hats. I always expect 6 weeks for them to get to me. And sometimes it might say the wrong size but be the right size. Had that happen with a pair of boots for my girls. They actually got 12 pair of boots from there this year in multiple colors. They have lasted very well at $6 each on two active (read:they can tear up some stuff) 3 and 4 year olds”
