Here are some of the deals (and heads up!) YOU found recently — Thanks! How do you share your own deal?

Big favor: If you mention other sites, online coupons, etc, please include the link. Disclaimer: All of the deals below come straight from readers.

Amazon

  • On the 40 pc Rubbermaid containers for under $20, Liz also noticed:  “Used ones start at just $17.70. These aren’t really used, they are either new with damaged packaging or a returned item. Just for whatever reason they can’t sell it as new. You’ll see comments like: Minor cosmetic damage to the bottom of the item. Packaging may be damaged. Minor cosmetic damage to the sides of the item. Packaging may be damaged. Item in original packaging. Packaging will have cosmetic damage. Packaging may be damaged.”

Coupons

  • John shares:  “Quaker yogurt bars at Walgreens are 250 points when you buy 4, not 8. That Quaker contest is no longer giving out free codes. But if you want to get the $1/2 Quaker coupon, you can try using the codes they sent me earlier, and see if that works at resolutionrewards.quakeroats.com: MK6PXVXM MSNE3PVN JK7VPH7T”

CVS

  • Clearance to look for from Sarah:  “If anyone is still holding onto some of the Milky Way coupons, the CVS in Oak Park had the Milky Way caramel bars on clearance for 29 cents yesterday. I’m not sure if that’s true at all stores. I had to back slowly away to keep from buying them all ;)

Dick Pond Athletics

  • Michelle posts on Facebook:  “If you are in the Chicagoland area and need winter running gear check out Dick Pond’s Athletics this weekend. 30% off bargain bin shoes, winter gear and other winter supplies. This is the best time to buy shoes for the next season. Their Facebook page had more info.”

Dominick’s

  • On the reset DiGiorno coupon, Brenda points out:  “There is also a buy2 get 1 FREE to load on the Dom. card… who knows how it will play out..”
  • Some results on that from letsshop:  “A couple of weeks ago I was able to use the b1g1 coupon with no problems (O: Was a MM when they were on sale for $5 including cat.$4 then .It auto drop $6.99 on second pizza J4U !! Who knows now until you try !”

Jewel

  • GMoney spotted clearance:  “Massive clearance underway at jewels in the area…..they were redoing all the shelves and pulling lots o product to put on clearance racks, turkey bringing kits were $4, bob’s organic unbleached flour $4, sushi rice $4, lots of archway cookies for a $1 or less, cake mixes and frosting for .50c…..too much to list, bought wine and used the $10 to get a bunch of freebies…..County farm rd and ATroad and at Barrington and Schaumburg roads……more than a half an isle of clearance at the latter………have fun.”
  • Outlander noticed:  “At Bartlett Jewel those soda/pizza Qs were hanging on 2L bottles of soda. There were also a bunch of full carts ready to be clearanced. An employee saw me looking at them and said “come back tomorrow, all this will be on clearance in isle 16″. So check your store too.” The coupon is save $2.00/2 2-liters Dr. Pepper, 7-Up, or RC when you buy one Palermo’s Primo Thin or Hand Tossed Pizza.

Meijer

  • Outlander comments:  “Look for some party clearance stuff at Meijer. I found 144ct 9in balloons for $0.59 (from $5.99), small party napkins for $0.37, plastic tablecloths $0.37, 14ct party cups $0.37… Look on the endcap by the greeting cards and gift bags and other party stuff.”
  • On Rubbermaid, sue shares:  “Saw good deals @ meijers. 28 piece set for 9.99 n 40 piece for 14.99″
  • Corissa confirms:  “I got my ad in today’s paper — it does say ‘buy three 6 pack bottles 7-up, A&W Root Beer or Sunkist 16.9 oz bottles get four free’”
  • A resource from Melissa N:  “savingaddiction.com has a list of matchups to go with the mperks coupons that go with code meijerbrandjan13. I hope this helps someone.”
  • A deal idea from Matt:  “They have a 2-day sale and the Haagen-Dazs 14 oz. will be BOGO. Meijer does not do a BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale. So I’m thinking you should still be able to get 4 for the price of 1. As you pay for one, get the second free with the BOGO coupon from the Target site and 2 more “free” from the store.” Hmm, that sounds dangerous!
  • Lisa’s deal:  “I used this Q at meijer with the b3 digiorno get 1 case of nestle water free(mperk) yesterday. And had no problems. They were $5 yesterday, not sure today. So 3 pizzas and case of water for $10.33 with tax!!!”

Old Navy

  • A sale update from Sarah:  “Nothing yet at Old Navy, and I’ve been checking–but on Tuesday I did go into the Gap (in Oak Park) and they were having 40% off of their clearance prices for adults and 30% off of clearance for kids. Not as great as some of the Old Navy clearance deals, but there was a lot of stuff at the Gap with pretty nice prices, especially combined with the Gap gift card deal at Dominicks.”

Pet food

  • Christina says:  “Dog food requests: I use this website when deciding on a new dog food.  If you’re in Chicago’s western suburbs, Two Bostons in Naperville and Natural Pet Market sell good quality dog food and treats. Pet Supplies Plus sells Innova Evo which is considered a high quality food however, it was too rich for my Pomeranians, so you also have to see what works best for your dogs.
  • Pam’s reccomendations:  “I was also going to recommend (as Christina did) Two Boston’s in Naperville—they are extremely knowledgeable about dog food, and only allow specific ingredients in their store. Another one is Wags to Whiskers in Plainfield. These places can help you find a good food for your dog and help with the transition. Two Boston’s often has sample packs you can bring home and have your dog try. Some dry foods I like: Fromm, Now!, Taste of the Wild. My dogs also love Stella and Chewy’s dehydrated raw food, which I reconstitute with a little water.”
  • Jessica sends over:  “This whole ‘beneful is harmful to dogs’ story has circulated before, but ultimately came up unsubstantiated…no scientific evidence ever appeared, only anecdotal “I gave my dog Beneful and now they are gone” stories.  These stories are very very sad, but there’s nothing in the news (I’ve been researching it) to make me switch my dog away from the food she loves.  That being said, I would understand erring on the side of caution. I just like to know the whole story whenever possible :-)
  • Tips from sue:  “Also feed my dogs taste of the wild. One has allergies and it helps tremendously. Also, no filler means you feed them less therefore less poop! Always find q’s on the back of grocery store receipts like jewel and caputos for pets supply plus . Well worth it.”

Schnucks/Logli/Hilander

  • Some finds from Joyce:  “Bisquick Shake & Pour Pancanke mix is on sale for $2.00 printable $0.50 coupon triples, so they are $0.50 each. Motts 6packs of applesauce are on sale for $2.29 & there was a coupon in the weekends paper for $0.50 off which triples, so they are $0.79 a pack. Planters peanut butter is on sale for %2.50 and there was $1 off coupon in the weekend newspaper making it $1.50 a jar. Coupon doesn’t triple but $1.50 isn’t a bad price for peanut butter here. Ortega taco seasoning is $0.79 and there was a $0.50 off any 2 Ortega products coupon in the paper which triples, so the final cost is $0.08 for 2. The cashier did have to manually push the coupon through. Or cans of Ortega black beans were on sale for $0.99, so 2 of them with tripled coupon would be $0.48.”

Target

  • A heads up on Stouffer’s from ellen:  “prices in the sw burbs are $7.29( tinley park and orland). still a good deal.”

  1. Sarah says:

A couple of months ago, Rachel posted a deal for USA Dawgs on Eversave. I bought the deal because I really needed some good boots for the snow. I have a wide foot and larger calves and often have a hard time finding boots that will fit me. I purchased the Eversave for the 9-inch side tie boots. I finally ordered my boots using the Eversave just before Christmas. They arrived just in time for me to use them in a bunch of snow. My feet were dry and warm! And the boots fit great. I normally wear a 7 or 7 1/2, with a slightly wide foot, and I purchased a size 8. I highly recommend these boots. The website is http://www.usadawgs.com and right now they have a coupon for 30% off all winter stock: use code WP30USA. The regular price is $50 for these boots and with this discount code they are $35 plus $7 shipping. They are well worth it in my opinion, given that many other boots like this sell for $100 or more.

I went to target in highland, in looking for the clearance toys. Didn’t find much but there was TONS of other clearance at 50-70% including hair color, hair care, sunscreen and bears and Blackhawks apparel! It was all over the place so I didn’t get a chance to look at it all but there were some great deals!

  3. Cindy says:

My walmrt (valparaiso, IN) still had some Christmas Clearance stuff, still only 75% off, but did score some big Angry Birds Bags for 75 cents. They were nice because they did not look like CHristmas bags. They also had a bunch of toys on clearance but didn’t get a chance to really look at them, darn hubby was in a hurry :P

  4. Kristy says:

At Hodgkins Target, they had Colgate Kids Toothpaste (Dora) 4.6oz on clearance for $1.68. There was a $0.75/1 (over 4 oz) in the 01/06 S2 insert, and some people got a $1.00 off Colgate Target coupon in a recent mailer. Free (if you have both) or under a buck.

  5. John Wilson says:

Strack and Van Til has a good deal on some Quaker products. As part of a Buy 5, save $5 deal (after discount) instant grits and the 12.6 oz. Perfect Portions instant oatmeal flavors are 99 cents, and Quaker Medleys are 69 cents, so a good deal with the $1/2 Quaker coupon. The individual packets of Quaker instant oatmeal are $1.89, so that’s a better deal for $1.67 at Dominicks and Food4Less.

On the DiGornio deal at Dominicks, they wouldn’t let me use the paper q with the JFU b2, get 1 coupon, but it took off $6.99 instead of the 5.00 Friday price, so 3 for 8.01. Not too bad!

  8. sandy k-g says:
