  • Suzann found: “The Gillette fusion shave cream or gel is included in this mix & match sale- makes it $0.49 each after $2 /1 coupon (PG 12/29 insert). Ran this only once since we do not need any more shave cream–must have a 20 year supply. It amazes me to see people pay full freight for this stuff !!”

  • Stacey posts on Facebook: “”Sweet and Sassy in Oakbrook is going out of business. 50-70% off store wide. Got some great things today and tons left. I believe they are open for another week. If you are looking for girly things it’s definitely worth the trip!”
  • Dawn found: “These [Fijit friends platters] were at 5 Below over the holidays for 5.00 each. Had quite a few of them too!”

  • Kitty sends over: “Meijer has a the 5 lb bag of Green Giant russet potatoes on sale for 2/$4. There was a $1/1 Green Giant fresh vegetables in one of the Jewel Big Book of Savings, so $1 for 5 lbs.”

  • Scott reports: “I just got back from the Menards in Yorkville where they had the tubs of Lloyd’s barbecue marked down to $1.49. There’s a $1 off coupon available at, so these would be $0.34 after coupon and after the 11% off. I’ve purchased both the Lloyd’s barbecue pork and the beef and they are both excellent. This is a great deal. Even better, the Menards Rebate credit I used removed the sales tax off of these items! Also, Menards is having a huge clearance sale. Lots of red cards all over the store and at the Yorkville Menards they had a “Clearance area” by the decking supplies and also had some appliances, bathroom cabinets, bikes, and a lot of other what nots in the interior portion of the garden area. You can “double dip” on the 11% rebate if you first buy a gift card and then use the gift card to buy the merchandise. You receive the 11% rebate on both transactions.”

  • Stacey says: “RE: the book, Feed the Pig. I’m surprised he could use that title, given it’s AICPA’s slogan…(Benjamin Bankes, the pink swine in the commercials who is the spokesswine for saving money.)…Just my 2 cents on this miserable slippery Friday night. Fantastic night to catch up on cutting coupons and watching HGTV :) I would be neglecting my frugal/CPA duties if I didn’t share the link to Benjamin…you can get emails if you’re so inclined AND/OR like their Facebook page.”
  • Veronica posts in the Hot Deals group: “reminder for those that signed up for the capital one 360 accounts, the deadline for the 5 transactions is approaching. I opened on 11/30 I called and was told that I have until 1/13 to complete the 5 transactions in order to get my bonus.”

I too often do not get packing slips which made it difficult around Christmas -my husband’s family all sent my kids gifts from Amazon but I couldn’t figure who sent what and had to ask everyone.

Be on the lookout for tearapads for $2 off the purchase of Laughing Cow cheese and a bag of Pretzel Crisps. I saw them at Jewel tonight at Clark & Catalpa in Andersonville. The pretzel crisps were tagged 2/$3 but rang up $2.50 (honey mustard & onion flavor did anyway) and they have the Laughing Cow cheese wedges on sale for $2.50 I think until 1/21. So $3 for both.
