Here are some notes of interest to couponers from the 12/30/12 Chicago Tribune, including coupons and values that differ from the previews. Note that ads and flyers can vary by location depending what stores are near you and what they decide to put in your paper.

  • Cost Plus World Market ad has a 10% off coupon 12/29-1/13. Exclusions apply.
  • GFS ad has a $5 off $50 coupon.
  • Look for an OfficeMax brown paper bag: 20% off everything, exclusions apply including no HP or Epson ink.
  • Look for a Menards brown paper bag: 20% off anything you can fit inside the bag including sale items. Exclusions apply.
  • Carson’s ad has a savings pass: 20% off sale price apparel etc., then the normal 15% and 10% tiers, exclusions apply. Text SHOPPASS to 266866 to get this as a mobile coupon (I’d wait til 12/30, though). Also a coupon for 10% off a single purchase of $25 or more Sun-Wed only exclusions apply.
  • In the Family Dollar ad: Nine Lives canned cat food 3/$.99. Special K is 2/$5.00 — better deals at Wags and Ultra though with new coupon. Coke 2-liters $.95 limit 6. Irish Spring body wash or 6-pack bar soap, $3.00. 6 roll Sparkle paper towels, $4.00 (print $1.00/1 here).
  • P&G insert oddly has game coupons — $5.00 off Scrabble Catch Phrase or Taboo, and $5.00 off Monopoly Electronic Banking AND one 8-pack+ Duracell.
  • P&G has $1.50/1 Crest Rinse — there have been ProHealth drugstore deals, so watch for those. Also the $.50/1 Crest toothpaste does NOT exclude regular or children’s this time, so wait for another $.88 sale at Ultra or use at Dollar Tree for $.50 toothpaste.
  • P&G has $1.50/2 bags Luvs.
  • Our Ivory coupon was $1.00/2, oh well.
  • We DID get $1.50/1 Tide detergent (excludes Pods).
  • And our Dawn coupons are $.25/1 and $.50/1 Hand Renewal, Power Clean, Bleach Alternative, or Oxi.
  • Sports Authority ad has a coupon for 20% off a single item priced $99.99+ exclusions apply.
  • Walmart ad: Minute Maid Pure Squeezed 2-pack, $4.98. They have DiGiorno for $4.98 — Print buy two get one free DiGiorno here, but it’ll be a better deal with the Catalina elsewhere through 12/29 or at Target 12/30 with the free Edy’s fruit bars. Red Baron pizza, $2.98. 4 ct KIND bars, $4.74. South Beach Diet meal bars, $5.98 — print $2.00/1 under 77477. Carmex $.98 ($.55/1 in the 12/2 SS).

Does anyone know if Home Depot will accept the Menards 20% off bag as a competitor’s coupon?
