Here are your Illinois Chicagoland Meijer highlights for the week of 2/7/13, brought to you by Christy at The Shopper’s Apprentice.

  • Please note that these are just the top deals: For the full list of weekly deals, please visit The Shopper’s Apprentice!
  • If you have questions about these deals or Meijer policies, please comment on her original post over there for a quicker response. Rachel says “I don’t have a Meijer, almost never shop at Meijer, and do not know much about Meijer, so am not the go-to person :).” I, on the other hand, do have a Meijer (two, in fact), but they are newer and smaller stores, so my experience is therefore limited, but I will help to the extent I can!
  • To see other unadvertised Meijer deals that crop up during the week, please visit The Shopper’s Apprentice)

(Note: Smaller neighborhood grocery Meijers such as Niles, Melrose Park, Berwyn, and Orland Park, go off a different ad than other Chicagoland Meijers, so some of your deals may differ from those shown here. Please verify in your own ad. Other states, Northwest Indiana, and downstate IL are on the Sunday-Thursday ad schedule, so sales there start the Sunday before the Thursday they start in Chicagoland in IL.)

Load 5% off your grocery and health & beauty care purchase on Saturday, 2/9, with digital mPerks eCoupon!

You can also save 15% off general merchandise and apparel with your Meijer credit card on Saturday, 2/9, in-store or online at Meijer.com with promo code 15MMC.

You can use Target coupons at Meijer? sorry if this is posted somewhere I havent seen yet.

  2. rachel says:

Meijer’s coupon policy says they will accept competitor store coupons. In practice, some are better about this than others :)

    • Charlotte says:

Yeah, some stores will accept the Target coupon INSTEAD of the Manufacturer’s coupon and some stores will accept it next to a manufacturer’s coupon. The one by the expressway in Bolingbrook (on Boughton) will accept it with a manufacturer’s coupon. I heart them now. :D

I couldn’t find this info anywhere… does Meijer accept Register Rewards? How about the ones that read ‘Redeemable only at Walgreens’? Can I use those anywhere besides Walgreens?

        • rachel says:

Meijer does not take Register Rewards. No one else (other than Walgreens of course) officially does either. Jewel stopped taking them in July, and Dominick’s some time before that. (Although of course some Dominick’s will take them even though their official policy says no, since stores can set their own local policies.)

After being told Meijer no longer accepts competitor’s store coupons last week, I contacted corporate and received this response:

“Our coupon policy states customers may combine one manufacturer coupon per item with applicable Meijer store coupon(s) where allowed under coupon redemption terms.

Please look carefully at your coupons. If the coupon is from a competitor and it says store coupon, no matter what store it is from, then you may use that with a manufacturers coupon.

If the coupon says it is a manufacturers coupon then you can use that with any store coupon. Whether it is a Meijer store coupon or a completers store coupon.”

The manager from the Melrose Park store personally called me and confirmed they do still take competitor’s store coupons – yay! My complaint is the written policy doesn’t clearly state they accept competitor’s STORE coupons. This apparently confuses their own staff.

  4. Kari O. says:

I’ve only had Meijers in McHenry refuse one Target coupon. It was for the Hormel party tray. It wouldn’t scan because it lists ‘deli dept’ instead of the specific party tray.
It turned out ok because the price at Target was $3 cheaper. So, I saved the coupon and paid less.

  5. Ashley says:

The glade Warmers at meijer – buy two @0.99 each and use 2 $1/1 coupons and get $1oyno. I don’t know how long it goes through.
