It’s probably too late to say since the sale is over today, but when I bought some special K (1.88, limit 4) at Jewel on Friday, I got a 1.50/1 any RTE (I found out this means ‘ready to eat’) cereal Catalina coupon, so today I went in and bought a couple more boxes since I also had the 1.00/2 special K cereal coupon. Great deal.
Went to Jewel this week. Found the Friskies Crispies cat treats on clearance for 49 cents each. I had a q for $1 on 2. The cashier said that she couldn’t have the q exceed the amount of the items. I had the Summer 2012 coupon policy with me and I quoted that the amount of q CAN exceed amount of item as long as there are additional items in the order to pick up the excess. Cashier said no, so she got manager. Manager said that I could “get the items for free”, but the extra amount couldn’t be “given to me”, because “they can’t do that”. I told them that the manufacturer reimburses the store the face value of the coupon PLUS 8 cents – I got a little hesitation about that one, but still no go. Was I wrong? Is there an updated coupon policy since “summer 2012″? Is there someone I can call about this? Any help is appreciated.
You were absolutely correct, and it is the most current policy. A lot of stores aren’t aware because that was a new change. You can talk to the store manager, call corporate, or comment on the Jewel FB page.
