Jewel deals week of 7/31/13 – 8/6/13

Here are the best Jewel deals and coupon matchups I see at Jewel-Osco for the week of 7/31/13. If your paper ads don’t come until the Wed. Tribune, you can sneak peek tomorrow’s ad, here.

  • Jewel no longer requires a store card for sale prices. (You may wish to keep yours for SavingStar and Upromise, however.) If you already turned in your card, here’s a message from SavingStar: “If you have already turned in your card: Please call the store’s customer support desk at 877-932-7948 to request a new Upromise card, which will also work on SavingStar. Once you receive this card in the mail, please be sure to add the new number to your SavingStar account before making any further purchases. You do not need to be a member of Upromise to use this card.”
  • Load SavingStar “electronic coupons” for Jewel (which rebate back into your SavingStar account rather than coming off at the register).
  • Note that the alcohol deals are sometimes different in Indiana stores, and that pricing may vary in some city stores.

Things to know at Jewel

Just a few…

  1. Here is the official Jewel-Osco coupon policy.
  2. When you can and cannot use OYNO Catalinas and Register Rewards from other stores at Jewel.
  3. *** Watch your coupons with the “new” registers. On a BOGO sale, they have the tendency to scan in your second coupon at…  ZERO. Their policy has not changed, however, and you can still use two coupons on a BOGO sale; they’ll just have to enter the second one manually. *** See register issues with coupons at Jewel for more on this and other issues.

  1. Erin says

There is a 2.00/2 Fiora in my FairPlay ad this week. So that would make them 4.00 for 2. 2.00 for an 8 ct or 12 ct of toilet paper is pretty darn good :)))

  2. Melissa says

The Chips Ahoy cookies will only be $1 a package if you have the $1/1 from the nabisco coupon book found in stores.

  3. Becky says

Rachel, Does Jewel still allow for overage on coupons? I thought they did but when I went yesterday they adjusted it down to only allow the item to be free. Thanks for any advice.

      • Shandelle says

So if you ask for it are they supposed to give you overage? I never had any idea it worked that way.. I’ve always just seen it adjust down automatically and was satisfied getting something free.

        • says

Yes. It’s in the policy and is supposed to apply toward other items in your order. However, no one is trained on it, so you will likely have to train your store and print the policy. It’s linked in the bottom of each weekly deals post :)

  4. Jane says

There is a .50/1 cp today in the Tribune for the Fiora at Jewel, but you have to buy 2 to get the sale price. I went hunting for another cp, since I only get 1 Trib…..and low and behold I found another one to print!

It looks like OK toilet paper, an anything would be better than the 1 ply Marcal I stocked up on from Ultra eons ago. It is about like Scott….very thin but last forever!
