Buy $25 get $5.00 OYNO Catalina
OK, this is mostly a P&G deal. I’m sorry — but, prices here are honestly not worth typing out the whole list. See ad for additional participating products.
- Update — Liz points out there is a SavingStar offer for $5.00 back on $20 Charmin, Mr. Clean, Febreze. This makes it more interesting.
One idea: Buy eight Pantene shampoo and/or conditioner for $23.92 and a 2-liter of 7-Up, Dr. Pepper, RC, or Sunkist for $1.50 = $25.42. Use four $3.00/2 Pantene from the 1/27 PG (exp. 2/28). Pay $13.42 with $5.00 back for a net cost of $8.42. This, however, is at your own risk because of the “minimum purchase requirement calculated after manufacturer’s coupons redeemed” wording in the ad. These have again been working pre-coupon but no guarantees. (The Ultra Foods P&G rebate deal this week is better, if you have one near you.)
Buy five participating GM products at $2.75 each get $5.00 OYNO
Again, not a super price — your net cost is $1.75 each after Catalina. I generally don’t post GM cereal or bar deals unless they hit $1.50 or less.
- Cereals: Honey Nut, Honey Nut Medley, or Multigrain Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs, Lucky Charms.
- Bars: Fiber One bars or brownies, or Nature Valley granola bars or thins.

Buy 3, get $2 OYNO. Buy 4 or more, get $3 OYNO. $1.00/1 Carving Board in the 1/6 SS. Would be nice if they listed a price in the ad, but oh well. I’m going to guess $3.99. If so, you could buy two for $7.98, use $2.00/2 store coupon and two $1.00/1 manufacturer coupons, pay $3.98 with $1.00 back. But I could be totally wrong on the price here, it could be $4.99 for all I know… let me know if you spot a deal.

Things to know at Jewel
Just a few…
- Load SavingStar “electronic coupons,” which rebate back into your SavingStar account rather than coming off at the register.
- SavingStar e-coupons vs Fuel Rewards e-coupons.
- Load e-coupons on the Jewel-Osco website.
- Here is the official Jewel-Osco coupon policy from July 2012.
- When you can and cannot use OYNO Catalinas and Register Rewards from other stores at Jewel.
- *** Watch your coupons with the “new” registers. On a BOGO sale, they have the tendency to scan in your second coupon at… ZERO. Their policy has not changed, however, and you can still use two coupons on a BOGO sale; they’ll just have to enter the second one manually. *** See register issues with coupons at Jewel for more on this and other issues.

I am wondering how a deal might work out with the p&g spend 25 get 5oyno…combined with the 5 back on 20 saving star…and the buy febreeze fabric refresher get a free car vent…anyone think of a good deal or if its worth it?
On the spend $25 get $5—this has not worked for me in Indiana, for at least six months. At my store, I have to be over the $25 after coupons (which you mention). I think we should ignore these kinds of deals at jewel, and buy the same product elsewhere, so that maybe Jewel will wake up and wonder what they are punishing us (couponers) for. mho.
There’s also the bogo Q for the pantene in the pg flyer from 2/17. It had Vidal Sassoon on one side and pantene on the other. When you buy in multiples of 4 and use 2 bogos and 1 $3/2 it comes to only 2.98 for the 4 or around .75 each. Even if you bought enough to try to trigger the spend $25 get $5 oyno and it doesn’t work, its still a good deal.
My point is that I would rather purchase the same product with the same coupons at any other store that does not have the Jewel policy of “minimum must be met after all coupons.” It is a ridiculous policy since they are reimbursed for every coupon that we use. If others feel the same way that I do, we could purposefully not buy anything listed in these specific sales at Jewel, and see if they notice and possibly change their unreasonable policy.
I don’t want to take over the comments, so I will stop with my rant, now.
If you’re worried about not triggering the catalina with the post-coupon total couldn’t you skip using the coupons at checkout and redeem them at customer service after you’ve checked out?
@Robin — Yes, you could. I’m not posting to do it that way because it seems kind of like deliberately getting around their rules — it’s one thing if it prints anyway, it’s another to deliberately go around — at least that’s my muddled thinking on the issue.
But it would work.
@Jane — I agree. I have talked to Jewel more than once about the fact that they get reimbursed for manufacturer coupons and shouldn’t penalize people for using them, but no real response. It’s one of the factors that makes me disinclined to type out the whole matchups for a deal like this. Yes, the Pantene deal is great (especially if it works pre-coupon). But it’s just as great, if not more so, at Ultra Foods this week, or Pantene deals often show up at CVS, etc. Honestly? I’d rather take my $ and my coupons elsewhere on these sorts of deals where there is often a choice of stores, between the post-coupon wording and the ongoing register issues. (Those of you who are doing Pantene, by the way, watch the registers if you’re using the BOGO coupon with the cents off coupons!)
My March 24th smart source have no hunts coupons. Were these in certain areas only? I live in the fox valley area.
Ugh, sorry — looks like these were regional. They were in the database I was using but not in my SS either. I’ll remove.
