This one starts tomorrow 8/14 at Jewel: Buy $100 or more in participating gift cards and get a coupon “at the bottom of your receipt” for $20 off your next $50 grocery purchase. Really? You expect that wording from Dominick’s, but Jewel? Now you are spending $150 to save $20 — and who knows if the $20 off $50 will have the crazy post-coupon wording on it… Note that the Visa and MasterCard will have activation fees of $4.95, too.
*** And I just read this more carefully — The fine print says only the $25 Visa and MasterCard count, which means four activation fees, which eats up your entire Catalina value. That’s ridiculous. ***

Jewel-Osco You are not limited to only the Visa and MasterCard gift cards, Christian. You can also purchase AMC Theaters, Gap, iTunes and NIKE gift cards to get this awesome deal. The Visa and MasterCard gift cards do require an activation fee per their guidelines, but if you are already planning on getting them as gifts, it’s a great deal! Please keep in mind that gift card availability can vary by store location.
The math is mind boggling. It’s a “great deal” to save $.20 on a $50 purchase! Save the effort and get someone CASH as a gift, lol. If you want to chime in, link to the Facebook thread is here.
