This week, a SmartSource and a Red Plum.

In Chicagoland, the Chicago Tribune generally has the most coupons in it — even if the Sun Times or the DuPage Daily Herald or the other smaller papers have the same inserts, they’re often thinner. (On rare occasions, the Sun-Times will contain a coupon not found in the Trib, but it’s rare enough that it’s worth remarking on when it happens.) If you are outside of Chicagoland, you will want to pick up the largest-circulation paper in your area.

So, what looks good to me?

  • BIC Disposable Razor (excludes trial size) $2 expires 1/6/13. Select are $3.48 at Ultra this week. Also on the buy 10 save $3.00 instantly sale at Jewel.
  • Buddig (2oz) $1/4 expires 3/31/13. These were $.50 at Jewel last I looked.
  • Fisher Baking Nut Item (10oz+) 55¢ or $1 expires 1/31/13. Hopefully we’ll get the $1.00 again.
  • Gevalia Coffee Bag $1.50 expires 1/12/13.
  • Green Giant Frozen Boxed Vegetables 60¢/3 or $1/3 expires 2/2/13. We always get the $.60/3, but …
  • Hershey’s Kisses, Reese’s, Rolo, York, Hershey’s Nuggets, Hershey’s Miniatures or Hershey’s Bliss (7.8oz+) $1.50/2 expires 12/25/12.
  • Progresso Soup $1/4 expires 2/2/13. Select varieties are $.88 at Ultra this week.
  • Stove Top Stuffing $1/2 expires 1/9/13. That’s higher than usual.
  • Edy’s Products (48oz+) $1/2 expires 12/31/12.
  • Febreze (excludes trial size) $3/3 expires 1/31/13.

So, how many?

I’m thinking… four. Values aren’t bad this week.

Not getting inserts in your paper?

The Tribune is apparently no longer including inserts the further you get from the city — and some people in Chicago and the southern burbs are also missing one or both inserts in both delivered and purchased papers. This decision is made by the inserts — they’ll decide not to distribute in certain ZIP codes, or only to distribute a certain number in given areas so not all papers have them.

Here are a couple of places you can get clipped coupons and/or whole inserts, if the Trib isn’t working for you:

  1. Coupons & Things by Dede. Dede also has a loyalty program where you earn points for each order, and then can redeem those points towards $ off later orders. She ships fast.
  2. WeClipUSave — some cheaper than Dede, and often more stock. They also have whole inserts available.

These are also good places to try if you just want a lot of a single coupon, as it can be more cost effective than buying multiple papers.

Rachel – Is Fannie May doing their Christmas coupon again this year? Is it normally in this week’s paper or next Sunday’s?

  2. rachel says:

No one knows if they are or aren’t. I think it was earlier last year — anyone remember? So hopefully the BOGO wasn’t it…

  3. rachel says:

Cool! Anyone sees it tomorrow, report back! :)

  4. Jeanniek88 says:

    Yay!! Thanks!!

  5. Emily says:

Yes, the Fannie May coupon is in Sundays newspaper (12/9/12)

  6. Emily says:

It is just a single page glossy sheet in with the sales ads part

It must be a random distribution as neither of the 2 Sunday Trib’s I bought
had them. I live in Chicago and bought them at a Dollar Tree in Chicago so
it wasn’t that I was too far out.
