I purchased an upright freezer last year for close to $500 (the same freezer that was on sale at Sears for $100 less, but I didn't keep a copy of the ad argh...)
....Never received anything on the rebates just like most of the rest of you.
I just got a letter with a coupon good for 20% of REGULARLY PRICED items up to $1,000. Is there even anything in the store that's regularly priced? My hubby was NOT impressed with the letter.
We've used Grants for many purchases over the past several years and really don't have anything else to buy there!

Thanks Rachel for starting this.
I, too, am upset with the proposal by Grant's to compensate us. It is totally unacceptable. My first plan is to contact that lawyer listed in the original postings to see what our options are. I'm hesitant because class action suits generally only make money for the lawyers, but this nonsense has got to stop. If I get in contact with her, and she agrees I will post her e-mail here. We need to get the word out. Any ideas?

I have been in contact with Judy Archer. She is a lawyer who posted on the previous site, ( http://www.mashupmom.com/?p=1816), and was also burned in this scam. She can be contacted at her web site www.judyarcherlaw.com or you may e-mail her at judyarcher@comcast.net. Please try to get the word out, and stop this. We need some advice, and I'm willing to listen to what she has to say.

Ms. Archer wrote the following: I would appreciate it if you would list my information for others. I am a victim as well and want to try and help everyone. Judy Archer, Esq. judyarcher@comcast.netwww.judyarcherlaw.com(708) 357-4361 She also wants everyone to gather up any receipts or correspondence with Grants. Come on people, we can do this!....

Around Feb. of last year, I bought a stove that was over $1,000. I was supposed to get food rebates of $500 and nothing came, the rebate co. went out of business, then as compensation, months later, Grants sent me an appology letter with info on how I can do a similar deal to replace the old one, but this time for $600. Submitted reciepts for 2 months, and nothing again. The 2nd rebate co. is out of business too. Now it has been 1 year and nothing. I have not contacted Grants about the 2nd deal yet. I dont want to spend much more time, etc on this unless it is with a different party, lawyer or others who are mad. The 2nd rebate co. had me send $9+ check to cover registration fees, so I am out that + stamps + time and $ I spent to copy receipts, mail them, etc. for rebates. I am totally interested in pursuing this legally if others are in a group. I believe that Ashley Furniture was sued for this same thing. If I have my facts strait, they dealt with the same rebate co. that Grants did the first time around, about a yr. ago.

I'm so glad that it is not just me having this problem. Grant's need to fix what they have broken. There have to be hundreds of people out there that are in the same situation as us, we all need to get together. Beck's Furniture was doing the same thing, with the same company: http://www.tomatopages.com/folsomforum/index.php?s=7a876e05bf54ade6455390fe2c354d89&showtopic=25951There are hundreds of people that have been affected by this and we need to get back at these companies! Do they think $500 is money just to throw away these days with a 10% unemployment rate? I have contacted Judy and looking forward to what she has to say on the topic. Meanwhile if you discover anything please post here so we can all be well informed and prepared for the future. Take Care!

My firm has already filed a class action against Grant’s for its rebate practice. We are looking for additional information regarding Grant’s practices. If you have any information you want to share or would like more information regarding the class action we already filed or more information about the firm, please contact me at Keith@Keoghlaw.com or visit www.Keoghlaw.com. Please do not post to this message as it would not be confidential. Further, if you already have an attorney representing you, please have the attorney call me to discuss this matter. ADVERTISEMENT

I to have been taken by Grant's. I didn't sign the release that Grant's just sent me and am interested in the class action. I bought a dishwasher only because of the deal, probably would have bought a less expencsive one otherwise. Probably will never get the whole $500 back, but anything will help. Grant's probably wasn't fraudulent themselves, but should have been more careful in checking out the company offering the deal!

I got taken by Grant's AND The Bedding Experts (both in Batavia). Now, I don't want gas or grocery certificates, I want $500 from each.

I've also been scammed and am really annoyed about it. Grant's also sent me the letter for a 20% coupon with the requirement that I absolve them of all responsibility if I use it. What a poor way to deal with a bad situation.

Last month, I moved to my new house so I bought new things like appliances to start afresh. I sold my old appliances and luckily they were all bought in the internet. I bought a new front loading washing machine, LED TV and a two door refrigerator. But I kept, my old bread toaster 'coz I like how the vintage look blends with the modern design of the kitchen.
